to the Bank Holiday weekend when we made lots of new furry friends at the Dog Show at The Priory Golf & Activity Centre. This was to raise much needed funds for MarchingMutts.

Two of the crew were part of the judging panel who named Rollo as the winner 🎉🎉🎉

Thanks to everyone that came along and said hello, either to the dogs or to us on the pump.

If you’ve got any photos of you or family on the fire engine or chatting to any of us, please share them in the comments below👇

We had the pleasure of visiting HQ last night. We spent time with the control team at Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service and gaining a deeper insight into how the call system and operations run behind the scenes. It was particularly valuable to see how control handle emergency calls, mobilise crews, coordinate resources in real time, and support incidents to ensure a fast, effective response across the county.🔥🚒

A special thank you to the team on shift for their time, openness, and for demonstrating the critical role they play in supporting crews and keeping our communities safe.🫶🏻

We’re always glad to know we’ve been able to help, but this one really meant a lot to us. A very kind person we assisted went above and beyond to show their appreciation by stopping by the station with some treats for the crew. Thank you so much for your kindness and support! 🥰😋

Please be our eyes and ears. Two of our stations have been broken into this week, so we're asking you, our local residents, to help us look out for any suspicious activity around our station.

Chatteris and Gamlingay fire stations were broken into in the early hours of Monday morning and Tuesday evening respectively. At Chatteris, life-saving cutting equipment used at road traffic collisions and other rescues was stolen.

Chief Fire Officer Matthew Warren said: “Break-ins to fire stations are happening across the country and this week we have been victims twice. We are asking for local residents to please help be our eyes and ears, to report any suspicious activity and make a note if possible of any vehicle details including registration number, as well as descriptions of any individuals involved.

"Please also save any CCTV or Ring doorbell footage if it has captured any suspicious activity. The incidents have happened when it’s dark, in the evening and early morning. Entry has been forced, so if you hear a noise coming from one of our stations, please do just look and check to see if it is our firefighters, don’t assume it is. This support by our local communities would be greatly appreciated.”

Anyone with information is asked to visit the Cambridgeshire Constabulary website or call 101 and quote the reference 35/21532/26.

Practice makes perfect!
Our crews at March have been sharpening up on their breathing apparatus drills and RTC skills this week. Using our on-site smokehouse to recreate realistic conditions, alongside old scrap vehicles provided for training, allows us to practise safely but realistically.

From working in smoky environments to carrying out precise vehicle extrication, you can never get too much practice when it comes to being ready to respond. 🚒💪
