میں برطانیہ کی سیاست میں کیوں حصہ لے رہا ہوں؟

آج میرے کچھ پاکستانی دوستوں نے ایک گروپ میں مجھ سے سوال کیا: “آپ برطانیہ کی سیاست میں کیوں حصہ لے رہے ہیں؟” یہ سوال پڑھتے ہی میرے دل میں کئی یادیں اور تجربات ایک ساتھ آ گئے۔ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ پاکستان اور برطانیہ کی سیاست میں زمین آسمان کا فرق ہے،

اور یہی فرق مجھے یہاں تک لے آیا
کہ میں نے اس ملک کے جمہوری عمل میں حصہ لینے کا فیصلہ کیا۔

پاکستان میں سیاست میں قدم رکھنا اکثر وسائل اور اثر و رسوخ کے بغیر ممکن نہیں ہوتا۔ چاہے آپ کے پاس علم ہو، جذبہ ہو، یا عوامی خدمت کا شوق ہو، اگر وسائل نہ ہوں تو آپ کی سیاست میں شرکت صرف خواب رہ جاتی ہے۔ الیکشن میں حصہ لینا، لوگوں کو قائل کرنا، اپنی بات پہنچانا یہ سب کچھ مالی وسائل سے جڑا ہوتا ہے۔

اس لیے بہت سے اہل فکر نوجوان اور ایماندار لوگ سیاست سے دور رہ جاتے ہیں۔

برطانیہ ایک مختلف دنیا ہے۔ یہاں جمہوریت کی بنیاد صرف وسائل یا اثر و رسوخ نہیں، بلکہ عوام کی خدمت اور جذبہ ہے۔ ہر شخص، چاہے طالبعلم ہو یا ملازم، اپنی رائے اور محنت کے ذریعے سیاست میں حصہ لے سکتا ہے۔ یہی آزادی، مساوات اور شفافیت مجھے بہت پسند ہے، اور یہی وجہ ہے کہ میں نے یہاں سیاست میں قدم رکھنے کا فیصلہ کیا۔

کچھ دوستوں نے کہا کہ شاید میں یہ سب شہرت کے لیے کر رہا ہوں۔ انہی میں سے ایک نے لکھا کہ صحافت میں اس نے کافی نام بنالیا ہے،
اسکے بعد میں نے لکھا۔۔
اس میں کوئی شک نہیں صحافت میری پہچان بن گئی۔
اور اس میں سب سے بڑھ کر میں شکریہ ادا کرتا ہوں شہر مانچسٹر کا۔
یقین جانیں بہت تھوڑی عمر میں اس شہر کے لوگوں نے مجھے عزت دی۔

اگر مقصد صرف شہرت ہے تو صحافت ہی کافی ہے۔

لیکن میرا مقصد یہ ہے کہ جب ہمیں کوئی کام اچھا لگتا ہے، ہمیں لگتا کہ یہ کام صحیح اور فائدہ مند ہے، تو ہمیں اس میں حصہ لینا چاہیے۔

لفظ “Contribution” میرے لیے صرف ایک لفظ نہیں، بلکہ ہمت، جذبہ اور عزم کا سمندر ہے۔

جب میں پاکستان میں تھا، اور ابھی طالبعلم تھا، تو مجھے سیاست میں دلچسپی ہوئی۔
نہ تو سیاسی بیک گراؤنڈ اور نہ وسائل لیکن عمران خان کے نظریات نے شعور دیا کہ اپنے ملک کےلیے کچھ کرو۔۔ میں نے نہ صرف عمران خان کے لیے ووٹ دیا بلکہ لوگوں کو قائل کرنے کی کوشش بھی کی۔ میں نے محسوس کیا کہ صرف ووٹ دینا کافی نہیں، بلکہ لوگوں کو صحیح پیغام دینا بھی ضروری ہے۔ اسی جذبے کے تحت میں نے 2016 میں ایک کتاب لکھی، جس کا عنوان تھا کپتان۔ اس کتاب میں میں نے عمران خان کے حالات، واقعات اور نظریات کو تفصیل سے بیان کیا تھا۔
اسکا مقصد یہ تھا کہ Contributon تو ہمیں زیادہ سے زیادہ کرنی چاہیے۔
چونکہ ایک سیاسی راہنما اور پارٹی کا ذکر ہوا تو میں واضح کرنا چاہتا ہوں۔
یہ congratulations شخصی نہیں بلکہ عظیم ملک پاکستان کےلیے تھی۔
اور آئندہ بھی اپنے ملک اور اپنے اداروں کےلیے کرتا رہوں گے۔

بعد میں جب میں برطانیہ آیا اور پریس کلب آف پاکستان کے ساتھ جڑا، تو مجھے محسوس ہوا کہ دیار غیر میں یہ پریس کلب ہمیشہ پاکستان کی عزت اور وقار کی بات کرتا ہے۔
پاکستان کا روشن چہرہ دنیا کو دکھاتا ہے میں نے دن رات پریس کلب کے لیے کام کیا، اور کر رہا ہوں۔
چیئرمین شیخ اعجاز افضل ، صدر محمود اصغر اور تمام ارکان کیساتھ ۔
کیونکہ یہ میرا طریقہ تھا کہ میں اپنے ملک کی ساکھ اور وقار کو دنیا کے سامنے برقرار رکھوں۔ اسی طرح، خدمت اور contribution کا عمل مجھے ہمیشہ اپنے مشن سے جوڑے رکھتا ہے۔

برطانیہ نے مجھے بہت کچھ دیا: عزت دی، روزگار دیا، تعلیم دی، یہاں تک کے اپنی شہریت دی۔

میں نے محسوس کیا کہ یہ ملک صرف رہائش کی جگہ نہیں بلکہ ایک ایسا ملک ہے جس نے مجھے اپنے مواقع اور حقوق کے ذریعے ایک ذمہ دار شہری بنایا۔ اسی محبت اور وفاداری کے جذبے کے تحت میں نے حلف اٹھایا اور برطانیہ کے جمہوری نظام اور اقدار کے لیے وفاداری کا عہد کیا۔

یہی وجہ ہے کہ میں نے 2026 کے لوکل الیکشن میں ورکرز پارٹی کے پلیٹ فارم سے کونسلر کے لیے میدان میں اترنے کا فیصلہ کیا۔ میں نے یہ فیصلہ صرف ذاتی مفاد یا شہرت کے لیے نہیں کیا بلکہ contribution کے ایک بڑے نظریے کے تحت۔ میں چاہتا ہوں کہ میں اس ملک کے جمہوری عمل میں حصہ لے کر اس کے نظام کو بہتر بنانے میں اپنا کردار ادا کر سکوں۔

اگر الیکشن میں کامیابی نہ بھی ملی، تو بھی میں اپنے دل کو یہ کہہ سکوں گا کہ میں نے کوشش کی، میں نے اپنے جذبات اور صلاحیتوں کو اس ملک کی خدمت کے لیے وقف کیا۔ اور اگر جیت گیا،

تو اس کا مطلب ہوگا کہ مجھے اپنی ذمہ داری اور بھی زیادہ سنجیدگی اور توانائی کے ساتھ نبھانی ہے۔

میں اس ملک کی بہتری، عوام کی فلاح، اور معاشرتی خدمات کے لیے اپنی توانائیاں وقف کر دوں گا۔

سیاست میں حصہ لینا صرف ووٹ دینا یا اقتدار حاصل کرنا نہیں ہوتا، بلکہ یہ ایک عمل ہے جو ہمیں ذمہ داری، جذبہ، اور خدمت کا درس دیتا ہے۔ یہ ہمیں سکھاتا ہے کہ اپنے ملک کے لیے کچھ کرنا، چاہے چھوٹا ہو یا بڑا، ایک انسانی فریضہ ہے۔

پاکستان اور برطانیہ کی سیاست کے فرق نے مجھے یہ سکھایا کہ مواقع اور انصاف کے نظام میں شمولیت کتنی اہم ہے۔

لہذا میرا مقصد صرف سیاست میں حصہ لینا یا پہچان حاصل کرنا نہیں، بلکہ اپنے تجربات، صلاحیتوں اور محنت کے ذریعے contribution کرنا ہے۔

میں چاہتا ہوں کہ میرے فیصلے اور کام برطانیہ کے عوام کے لیے مثبت تبدیلی کا باعث بنیں، چاہے وہ کمیونٹی کی فلاح ہو، تعلیمی ادارے کی بہتری ہو، یا کسی معاشرتی مسئلے کا حل ہو۔

آج میں اپنی زندگی کے اس مرحلے پر ہوں جہاں میں نہ صرف اپنے ملک پاکستان کی خدمت کے جذبے کو یاد رکھتا ہوں بلکہ اس ملک کے لیے بھی کچھ کرنے کی خواہش رکھتا ہوں جس نے مجھے سب کچھ دیا۔ سیاست میرے لیے ایک ذریعہ ہے، ایک پلیٹ فارم ہے، جس کے ذریعے میں اپنے احساس ذمہ داری اور خدمت کے جذبے کو عملی شکل دے سکتا ہوں۔

آخر میں، میں یہ کہنا چاہوں گا کہ سیاست میں حصہ لینا صرف ذاتی مفاد یا شہرت کا ذریعہ نہیں ہونا چاہیے۔ یہ ایک اخلاقی اور انسانی ذمہ داری ہے، ایک موقع ہے کہ ہم اپنی صلاحیتوں اور جذبات کو عوامی بھلائی کے لیے استعمال کریں۔

Ramadan Kareem ❤️ is a highly blessed month in the Islamic year that teaches us worship, patience, and gratitude. During this month, Muslims observe fasting and learn to control their desires. The experience of hunger and thirst helps a person understand the importance of patience and develop empathy for the poor and needy. In Ramadan, special attention is given to prayers, recitation of the Qur’an, charity, and remembrance of Allah. This month provides an opportunity to thank Allah for His blessings and to improve one’s life. Thus, Ramadan becomes a powerful means of spiritual growth and self-discipline.

As always, London welcomed the New Year in a grand way.
Fireworks lit up the banks of the River Thames, Big Ben’s chimes announced the stroke of midnight, and thousands of people burst into celebration.

Despite the cold weather, tourists and locals gathered on the streets. Music, smiles, and hopeful cheers filled the air. The message of new resolutions, a better future, and shared happiness was visible on every face.

Once again, London became a symbol of diversity, celebration, and unity, bringing everyone together.

I take immense pride in a true son of Pakistan,
Dr. Liaqat Malik

whose vision, courage, and personal commitment deserve the highest appreciation. By spending millions of pounds from his own resources, he launched DM News English (Sky 522)
not merely as a television channel, but as a powerful platform to represent the Pakistani community in the United Kingdom at an international level.

The Pakistani community in the UK is one of the largest and most vibrant ethnic communities in the country. According to the 2021 UK Census, the Pakistani population in Britain has exceeded 1.7 million.

This community has made invaluable contributions across every sector of British society.
Whether in politics, law, medicine, policing, the armed forces, the judiciary, education, business, or manual labour, Pakistanis are serving the UK with dedication, integrity, and professionalism.

From judges and doctors to teachers, businessmen, security guards, and workers, members of our community belong to every walk of life and play a fair and active role in strengthening Britain’s democratic values.

Despite these vast contributions and countless charitable and welfare projects, a painful reality remained: the positive image of the Pakistani community was not being presented effectively to the wider world. Unfortunately, negative narratives often overshadowed the good work being done daily by hardworking Pakistanis. While the majority of our community quietly served society, their efforts went largely unnoticed, and in some cases, misrepresentation led to growing reputational challenges.

At such a crucial time, the determination and foresight shown by Dr. Liaqat Malik are truly admirable. He identified this gap and asked a critical question: How can the true, positive image of the Pakistani community be projected globally? His answer was clear and visionary an international-standard English-language news channel was needed. A platform that could communicate directly with British society and the wider world, showcasing how the Pakistani community contributes responsibly and positively to the UK while upholding its values.

Through DM News English, the world can now see and understand the real face of British Pakistanis their commitment to public service, social harmony, economic growth, and charitable causes.
This initiative enables our voices to be heard in a
language understood globally and ensures that our narrative is told by us, not defined by others.

In my view, this is an extraordinary and historic step one that Dr. Liaqat Malik took almost single-handedly. Such efforts are not only bold but transformative, as they lay the foundation for future generations to live with dignity, confidence, and pride.

I extend my heartfelt congratulations and sincere appreciation to Dr. Liaqat Malik for this remarkable initiative. I also humbly request my entire Pakistani community to recognize that this is your channel, and it is my channel. It represents our services, sacrifices, and success stories in the English language for the world to see.
