Gaddum Hi, we're Gaddum. We are a mental health and carers charity for Greater Manchester. Registered charity no.507162 Hi, I’m Gaddum.

I’m a charity offering advocacy, carer support, mental health, counselling and therapy services to Manchester. For nearly 200 years, I’ve been a voice for people struggling to have theirs heard, a shoulder to cry on for those shouldering a burden and a helping hand for anyone helping others to cope. I believe supporting individuals has a ripple effect on the whole community, ultimately building be

tter futures all round. Everyone’s circumstances are unique, but whatever situation you find yourself in, I’m here to listen.

A fantastic creative writing session with Salford carers at the beautiful Ordsall Hall during Carers Week last week.

We invited everyone to be inspired by the sights, sounds and smells of objects around them, to help guide their creative writing.

It was a lovely day for all involved; thank you to all carers who joined us, and to Ordsall Hall for such a beautiful venue - a very inspiring place to write ✒️

There's still time to sign up for our carers walk around Formby Beach tomorrow, 18th June. Find out more and book your place here: https://www.gaddum.org.uk/event/carers-walk-formby-beach/

Paul lives in Swinton and cares for his mum, who lives in a nearby care home.

In this short film, Paul shares his experience of juggling his caring role with work responsibilities. Paul also shares the advice he’d give to others who care for a family member, but don’t necessarily consider themselves a carer.

A huge thank you to Paul for inviting us into his home, sharing his experiences and helping to raise awareness of unpaid carers during National Carers Week 💙
