Thanks to a generous £10,000 grant from the Royal Air Force Benevolent Fund, Walking With The Wounded has been able to make receiving support a little easier for RAF veterans and their families.

Over the course of the grant, which concluded in June 2026, we supported 241 RAF veterans.

We are grateful to the RAF Benevolent Fund for their continued support and partnership.

A veteran, recently facing homelessness following a period of personal crisis, now finds themselves in a calmer and more positive place thanks to Walking With The Wounded’s intervention.

At the time, they were experiencing significant mental health challenges, causing them to feel overwhelmed and uncertain about the future. Through emergency funding, we were able to secure temporary accommodation, providing immediate safety and stability while longer-term support was put in place.

With counselling, practical support, and a clear plan in place, this veteran is no longer facing their challenges alone. Demonstrating how timely intervention can help veterans regain stability and confidence when they need it most.
