Following the ‘I Love Higher Blackley’ event last week, I recommend you watch, ‘We Love Blackley’ – a 34-minute film that features numerous community-based projects in the area. REELMCR – who produced this high quality documentary intend to produce ‘We Love Blackley 2’ as they fully appreciate there are many more invaluable community organisations operating in Blackley.

A truly fabulous event yesterday afternoon – ‘We Love Higher Blackley’. Kath and I were pleased to meet so many lovely people. Thank you to all those who visited our presentation space, we enjoyed your company and loved listening to your personal Blackley stories. We were delighted to welcome Carmine Grimshaw and his wife Elaine – City of Manchester Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress.

One of many, I’m delighted and proud to participate in the special forthcoming Higher Blackley event:
“On the 7th of March from 12:00 p.m. to 3: 00 p.m. Higher Blackley Community Centre will be filled with volunteers and workers celebrating the Higher Blackley Community; everyone is invited!
Higher Blackley Community Centre, The Hub, Mirfield Gardens and more invite you to come down and enjoy: free food, free entertainment, activities for children of all ages and the ‘We Love Higher Blackley’ film featuring interviews with volunteers and workers from the area.
More than anything, this event is for the people of Higher Blackley to get together and celebrate what’s great about the area, to chat and think about what could be better. Come down to have your say, to listen, or just nose around and see what’s happening. We’d love to see you!”
