Our newest, and dare we say cutest, little library has joined the trail! 📚🐥

A huge thank you to Stacey and the wonderful team at Ducklings Nursery in Blackley for setting up this fantastic new book-sharing spot, and to Manchester City Council for installing it.

You'll find it on the edge of Boggart Hole Clough, at the David Lewis Play Area near the Blackley Park Road entrance.

We can't wait to see it helping local children and families discover the joy of reading and share their favourite stories with one another.

Our newest indoor little library is in the 422 Manchester community hub in Longsight.

It is actually our very 1'st Little Library in Longsight so we are very happy to have the 422 team on our map! Bonita is the Read Manchester Literacy Champion who contacted us to be included on the map and she says:

422 Community Hub is a welcoming space in the heart of our community, bringing people together, offering practical support and creating opportunities for everyone to feel connected.

Our little community library is based in the 422 Café and is open to everyone! Whether you're looking for your next favourite novel, a book to share with your children, or something new to learn, we have a wide selection of books for both adults and children to explore.

Pop into the café, enjoy a drink, browse our bookshelves and discover something new. It's a lovely way to enjoy reading, share stories and make the most of our community space.

Everyone is welcome — come in, have a browse and find your next great read!"

So take Bonita up on that warm welcome and pop in have a brew and a browse at 422 Community Hub.

Sadly Fog Lane Park is closed for the time being and so we have been to collect the little library they had looked after. Hopefully the new owners (whomever they may be) will also like to have a little library. In the meantime this one will get some TLC and have a winter holiday in the shed until we know where it will go next.

Free family event for children aged 0-5!

As part of our Boys Love Stories campaign, we’re teaming up with Kerrie at Max Trax Openshaw for an exciting, fun event. Come along to laugh, play and enjoy time outdoors with your little one.

What to expect?

A friendly, relaxed atmosphere
Exploring fun creative activities
Outdoor play and stories
A free book for every child to choose and keep!

While this event is part of our Boys Love Stories campaign, it’s open to all children aged 0-5 and their families. Everyone will receive a warm welcome. 🤗

The 93rd Little Library to be added to the trail is the gorgeous Woodlands Lodge Little Free Library in Stalybridge. Katie's library was introduced to us by the lovely Sam from Haughton Green Little Library and you can find a group for the library over on Facebook.

What an amazing design. Katie has a donation box in her porch for donations. Do take a look if you are close to Stalybridge.
We are getting closer to the magic 100 on our map!

We are delighted with our next and newest Little Library that is part of our Bolton Little Library Project. have smashed it once again.

This Little Library can be found in the calming area of the Kyria Wellness Studio cafe community garden area. You can get a book and sit for a peacful read.

Headed into STOCKROOM the brilliant library space in Stockport Town Centre to have a read of this months book club read, The Best Of Everything by Kit De Waal. Have you been to Stockroom? It's a great space and it was bustling this Sunday afternoon!

Chorlton Book Festival starts on the 17th September so we have partnered with Chorlton Library to celebrate by collecting your book donations!

Bring your pre-loved books and pop them in our new donation bin.

We are looking for adult and child fiction and non fiction in good condition that will then be shared around our little libraries across Greater Manchester and especially in Chorlton.

Please do not add in any religious texts, text books, or out of date non fiction.

Thanks to Manchester Libraries for allowing the donation box.
