Security Sunday: That Wasn’t Really Them!

Famous face. Convincing video. Sounds exactly like them… But it’s not.
Scammers are using AI to clone celebrity faces and voices to promote fake investments, dodgy supplements and scam websites. It looks professional - because it is. It’s just not honest. Stay one step ahead:

✅ Be sceptical of celebs promoting unexpected products (especially money-related)
✅ Always go directly to the official website - never click the ad link
✅ Search the celeb and product - if it’s a scam, others will have called it out

Clicked and entered your details? Act fast:
• Change your passwords
• Check your bank activity
• Report the ad on the platform
• Contact Action Fraud: 0300 123 2040

A familiar face isn’t proof. Always check before you trust.
Share this with someone who needs to see this - it could protect them.

We found him exploring the wilderness of the Whelley Loop Line Scavenger Hunt, and he had a few inspirational words to say about the adventure available right here on our doorstep!

Introducing Digi Fest – Digital Wigan's celebration of all things digital 🎉

This August, we’re bringing the community together for two exciting Digi Fest events packed with interactive activities, hands-on tech and digital support for all ages and abilities. Whether you want to try out VR, try to escape a Digital Escape Room, boost your digital skills or get practical online safety advice, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

It’s Day 5, which means it’s time to wrap up the week. Here at Digital Wigan, we like to keep things fun and light-hearted - so every Friday, we dance, smile, sing, or sometimes do all three at once just for your entertainment. This week, it was Sam and Zoe’s turn to channel their inner Jack and Rose!
