Following the theme of excellence in boating, a massive well done to OC Alistair on receiving the SCC Coxswains badge, presented by Major General Armstrong at our RNP

The Coxswain badge is awarded to acknowledge achievement at a high level in multiple different boating disciplines.

ADVANCED BOATWORK AWARDS

In addition to the Area Officer, we were also pleased to welcome the Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire and Deputy Lieutenant Major General Mark Armstrong to our RNP, with Major General Armstrong presenting some of our higher level qualifications.

A big well done to AC Lukas and OC Alistair on qualifying as Rowing Coxswains. Effectively passing their driving test for rowing boats, as Coxswains they have demonstrated being able to complete a range of manoeuvres and control their crew. These qualifications will help us get more cadets on the water this season.

In Paddlesports, cadets can focus on different disciples once they have completed their Explore award, and OC Joe and OC Alistair recently completed their Touring Award. This qualification covers the fundamentals of planning and executing an expedition while kayaking.
