Malvern Sea Cadets

Malvern Sea Cadets Uniformed youth organisation providing opportunities and adventure for boys and girls aged 9 to 18

Open to anyone above the age of 10 the Sea Cadets offer young people opportunities to learn new skills and leadership, qualities that will stay and help them throughout their lives. For people 18 and over it provides positions to teach, lead and inspire young and old and work within the local community. Our training is aligned with many nationally recognised bodies so that the skills learnt here are accepted elsewhere allowing progression in the future if required.

ADVANCED BOATWORK AWARDS

In addition to the Area Officer, we were also pleased to welcome the Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire and Deputy Lieutenant Major General Mark Armstrong to our RNP, with Major General Armstrong presenting some of our higher level qualifications.

A big well done to AC Lukas and OC Alistair on qualifying as Rowing Coxswains. Effectively passing their driving test for rowing boats, as Coxswains they have demonstrated being able to complete a range of manoeuvres and control their crew. These qualifications will help us get more cadets on the water this season.

In Paddlesports, cadets can focus on different disciples once they have completed their Explore award, and OC Joe and OC Alistair recently completed their Touring Award. This qualification covers the fundamentals of planning and executing an expedition while kayaking.
