This week is Loneliness Awareness Week
Loneliness Awareness Week is dedicated to raising awareness of loneliness by inspiring conversation and communication.
By talking about it, we can reduce the stigma surrounding this natural human emotion.
You do not need to organise a large event to make a difference. Sometimes the smallest actions can have the biggest impact:
🌼Check in with a friend, neighbour, or colleague.
🌸Invite someone for a coffee or a walk.
🌼Attend a local community group or activity.
🌸Volunteer with a local organisation.
🌼Start a conversation with someone new.
🌸Reach out to someone you have not spoken to in a while.
Simple acts of connection can help people feel less isolated and more connected to their community.
Visit https://www.communityaction.org.uk/services to find out about what services Community Action offer to help reduce the feeling of loneliness in people over 60. Alternatively give us a call on 01684 892381 to speak to someone about how we can help.
