Tomorrow at the hall - totally free talk by Gary Lawes on what he's learned about household energy costs after several years of experimentation. He is not seling anything - just taking the opportunity to share his knowledge and findings with the community!

Also, actor Jason Durr (a friend of Gary's) will be doing the intro!

Register using the QR code just so he has a clear idea on numbers.

Join us at Crudwell Village Hall at 4pm on Saturday, 12th September for our screening of the People’s Emergency Briefing. The screening aims to bring people together to hear the evidence on the climate and nature crisis for themselves and discuss how to respond.

Refreshments will be provided!

We're sorry folks but, due to the extreme heat, the tennis courts will be closed this week :( At these temperatures, the new surface will soften significantly, leading to permanent damage if used.

Obviously we hope to have them open again as soon as possible.

Begin play...

The new multi-sports facility is ready for you.

- Tennis
- Pickleball
- Netball
- Basketball
- No wheels (seriously, they damage the courts :()
- In extreme heat, they will melt - please stop using immediately and let us know!

No booking system as yet (it's actually quite complicated) but, apart from a couple of slots filled by regular clubs (which welcome new members of course) they are free to use. Details of a suggested donation and how to donate are on signs at the courts.

Thanks to all the efforts of the committee in getting this great work done.

Please enjoy - and play fair!

An update on the multi-sports facility (AKA 'the tennis courts') at the hall.

The record heat levels delayed things for a few days but here's how it's looking as of today.

Once line painting is finished and settled, the posts/nets can be installed. We're looking good for our deadline of "before the bike ride" (20-21 June).

As the sign says, please be patient and don't use until ready.

Quick recap:

- Brand new surface all round
- 2 freshly-painted tennis courts (and nets)
- Lines for 2 pickleball courts
- 1 freshly-painted netball court (and posts)
- 1 basketball hoop and backboard (with key and 3-point line)

Nearly there.

Tennis courts update!

Work to resurface and repaint the tennis courts at the hall is set to begin this Monday (20th, April)!

Really exciting to get this project started but remember that, unfortunately, the courts will be out of action for quite a while as a result - six weeks approximately (i.e. beginning of June) all being well. This will enable the work to get done and for the new surface to settle long enough before use. Please respect the process and encourage others to do the same!

Can't wait... ⚽️🏀🎾🏆

Pinky and Perky (Pinky is the red one) are now all moved in at the village hall and ready to play!

Please look after them both and put them back in their slots when you’ve finished playing.

(Also a damp cloth might be needed for wiping the table before play).

Enjoy!
