Join us this Thursday, for a historic guided walk at Beeleigh Abbey 🌿
Led by local historian Stephen Nunn, whose connection to the Abbey spans a lifetime, these visits offer a quieter, more attentive way to understand the estate.
The story begins in 1180, with the founding of the Abbey, and unfolds gradually across the ground itself.
Peeling back the layers to re-discover the parts of the surviving east wing of the original monastic cloister. Proceeding past the surviving Chapter House and the site of the Abbey Church, to the lawn and the statue of the Abbey’s founder, Robert Mantell.
And at the close, a structure that would still be recognised by those who lived here centuries ago — a reminder of how much, and how little, has changed.
What is no longer visible begins, slowly, to take shape again.
A chance to walk through what endures.
Tickets for these events are limited.
