Elective Home Education Kent

Elective Home Education Kent The Elective Home Education team's role is to offer support and advice to home educating families.

This purpose of this page is to share events, information and resources that home educators may find useful. Parents have a responsibility to make sure that their child is educated. Most children attend school for their education, but parents have the right to educate their child at home, called elective home education (EHE). There are many reasons parents decide to educate their child at home, li

ke religion, personal preference, their child's specific need or as a short term intervention. Educating your child at home is a big commitment and will require a great deal of your time and energy, but when you are properly engaged in your child’s education it can be beneficial and satisfying experience for both parents and children. If you are educating your child at home, you need to make sure you are giving them a suitable full time education from the start of the term following their 5th birthday. If you are considering it our guidance can help you make your decision. To discuss educating your child at home call the Elective Home Education Team on 03000 416969 or email [email protected].

Take on our Junior Walking Challenge πŸ‘£
Looking for a simple, active way to get the kids outdoors? Our Junior Walking Challenge is a great way to build confidence, explore local routes and enjoy some fresh air together.

Children can choose their distance and earn a certificate:
πŸ₯‰ Bronze - 5km
πŸ₯ˆ Silver - 7.5km
πŸ₯‡ Gold - 10km

To take part, just head out for a walk and send us something that shows the journey. It could be a photo, a map, a drawing, a diary entry or anything creative that gets children excited about being outdoors πŸ’š

As National Walking Month comes to a close, it is a great time to keep those healthy habits going and explore even more of Kent on foot.
