🎒 Welcome back to The Lenham School!

We are really looking forward to welcoming our students back and beginning another exciting school year together.

📅 Tuesday 1 September: Year 7 and Year 12 students
📅 Wednesday 2 September: All other students

Students should arrive promptly, wearing the correct school uniform and ready to make a positive start to the new term.

A great deal of work has taken place across the school site during the summer, including the creation of some fantastic new areas for students to enjoy during their break times. We cannot wait to welcome everyone back and see these new spaces come to life!

🌟 Celebrating Inclusive Success: Success for Every Learner

Throughout this series, we have celebrated achievements across different areas of our curriculum. We conclude by recognising the progress made by students who may face additional barriers to their learning.

This year saw improved outcomes for students with SEND, narrowing gaps for students experiencing disadvantage, more students reaching key grade thresholds and greater access to higher grades.

Inclusion is not about lowering expectations. It is about ensuring every young person has the support, opportunity and encouragement needed to meet them. Behind these indicators are individual stories of determination, growing confidence and barriers being overcome.

We know that the work continues, but this progress demonstrates what can be achieved when high expectations are matched by the right support.

🌟 Building Momentum in Our Core Subjects

Our final subject spotlight celebrates the clear year-on-year progress made across English Language, Mathematics and Combined Science.

📈 Mathematics
• Grade 4+ increased by 5%
• Grade 5+ increased by 8%

📚 English Language
• Grade 4+ increased by 9%
• Grade 5+ increased by 3%

🔬 Combined Science
• Grade 4–4+ increased by 4%
• Grade 5–5+ increased by 4%

These improvements reflect the hard work and determination of our students, together with the focused teaching and support provided by our staff.

There is more work ahead, but these gains represent positive momentum and a stronger foundation on which to build. Congratulations to everyone who contributed to this progress!

🏆 SUBJECT SPOTLIGHT: SPORT ⚽

Our celebration of subject successes continues with Sport and another strong set of vocational outcomes.

In Sports BTEC, 75% of students achieved Level 2 Pass+, with half of the cohort securing Level 2 Merit+ and 12.5% achieving the top Distinction+ grades.

These results reflect the commitment of our students and the encouragement, expertise and high expectations of our PE team.

Sport at The Lenham School extends far beyond examination results. Through lessons, practical study, competitive fixtures and wider sporting opportunities, students develop teamwork, resilience, leadership and the determination to keep improving.

This has also been a year filled with memorable sporting moments, including fantastic team performances and trophy-winning success for both our boys’ and girls’ teams.

🎭 SUBJECT SPOTLIGHT: PERFORMING ARTS 🎶💃

Our celebration of subject successes continues with Performing Arts, bringing together achievement across Drama, Music and Dance.

In GCSE Drama, 66.7% of students achieved grade 4+, with half securing grade 5+ and an outstanding grade 8 among the results.

In Music, 63.6% achieved Level 2 Pass+, including 22.7% at Level 2 Merit+. GCSE Dance students also achieved positively, with 54.5% gaining grade 4+ and 27.3% securing grade 5+.

Performing Arts is about far more than examination outcomes. Through rehearsals, live performances and collaborative projects, students develop creativity, confidence, discipline, resilience and the ability to work successfully as part of a team.

Whether acting, singing, dancing or playing an instrument, our students continue to demonstrate the courage to express themselves and take centre stage.
