Disgraceful!
Whilst the media keeps the country distracted with speculation over whether Keir Starmer will stay or go, the real damage is already being done behind closed doors.
This week, the High Court dismissed the legal challenge against Labour’s inheritance tax changes affecting family farms, a case brought by farmers who argued they were never properly consulted before these devastating reforms were pushed through.
The challenge centred on changes to Agricultural Property Relief (APR) and Business Property Relief (BPR), with campaigners warning the policy could force generations of farming families to sell land simply to pay inheritance tax bills.
So while Westminster obsesses over political theatre, the final nail in the coffin for many British farmers has just been hammered down.
Labour MP Steve Reed - where was the consultation with the people who feed this country?
Victoria Atkins, Conservative MP and Shadow Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, has been the leading voice alongside leader of Conservatives Kemi Badenoch warning of the catastrophic impact these reforms could have on rural Britain and the urgency of reversing this policy is now impossible to ignore.
