Good news at the moment from Jenners Cafe - we will keep an eye on developments but no closure at present.

Message from Andrew Jenner

A quick update on the pending closure of the cafe. The good news is the cafe won't be closing any time soon.

The council and myself have been working hard with our legal teams to reach an agreement that both parties can work with, whilst the council looks at plans for redeveloping the site.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the support you have given us and the amazing stories you have shared with us.

Last but not least, can I thank all my staff members, who are the real heroes, not knowing whether they would have a job at the end of this month, they kept the cafe going and the doors open. Thank you x

This affects all residents in Maidenhead and Windsor who come under the LibDem run RBWM council.

Questions have been raised over the Royal Borough’s process and transparency after a ward councillor had to use an FOI to finally put to bed the question of how much the new Holyport Roundabout really cost.

Unless Andy Burnham revokes the commencement order, serious violent and sexual offenders will become eligible for early release from 2 September.

A Message from our Chair:

I was deeply saddened to hear of Councillor Leo Walters passing.
I had the great pleasure of working with Leo for many years and I will always look back on that time with great affection. Leo was a truly larger-than-life character, and working alongside him on council matters, campaigning, attending meetings or simply sharing a conversation was a delight. Leo always brought his unique energy to everything he did. It was a privilege to have known him and worked with him for so long. His commitment to his community and to public service was extraordinary.

Leo will be greatly missed but I feel very fortunate to have shared so many years and so many wonderful memories in public service with him.

Rest in peace, Leo. You were truly one of a kind and it was a joy to have shared our interest in building our community.
