Baking and tying! 🪢🥞 Tonight our Cubs mastered their knots and cooked up a storm making fresh Welsh cakes. Nothing beats learning new skills and getting to eat the results!

While most people were relaxing on New Year’s Day, Scout Leader Benedict was putting his "Skills for Life" into action on the slopes of Pen y Fan.

While descending in icy conditions, Benedict encountered a member of the public who had suffered a serious fall. Using his Scout first aid training, he treated the individual and kept them stable in the freezing cold until Mountain Rescue could arrive to help them off the mountain.

Benedict is a volunteer. He wasn't on duty — he was just prepared.

This is what Scouting is all about. We give our volunteers the training, the confidence, and the skills to lead and help others when it matters most. Benedict didn't just start his new year with a hike; he started it by making a real difference in someone’s life.
