Bore da
For those of you that have been following our John Felix story - here is the last chapter..
Quite remarkably, John Felix's great nephews saw our story on social media and got in touch. Astonishingly, Peter and David Felix still had some of John's tools from the 1800s in their possession and have kindly donated them to our Heritage wall in the Caffi.
We have made a smaller information panel to the right of the main one, displaying a marking gauge and small wood-plane that belonged to John Felix - they even had his name stamped on them!
We would like to thank the Felix family for their very kind gesture, enabling us to put the final pieces of this amazing story together.
So... when you now sit on the pitch pine booths in the Caffi, repurposed from Capel Salem, Corris, right above you is the story of one of the carpenters that made them 130 years ago, including probably the very tools he used.
You couldn't make this up!
