The Mayor of Macclesfield is holding his bingo fundraising night this evening at the Parkhorse Bowling Club (down the road from Sainsburys) - no need to book, just turn up ready for eyes down at 7pm.

The Mayor of Macclesfield is holding a fundraising Bingo night on the 4th September in support of his two chosen charities Cardiac Risk in the Young and My CWA - Cheshire Without Abuse.

The event is being held at the Packhorse Bowling & Social Club on the corner of Abbey Road and Westminster Road.

Doors at 6:30pm, eyes down at 7pm.

How exciting to be part of this workshop at the Silk Museum, particularly with the Bayeux coming to Britain. Learn some of the traditional stitches with hand died wools.

Learn two of the instantly recognisable Bayeux stitch techniques from the iconic Macc History Tapestry and the original work with artist-historians Ailsa Holland and Becca Smith in this full day workshop. Choose your own element to stitch using naturally-dyed crewel wool on linen. Be inspired by the surroundings of the Macc and Bayeux Tapestries exhibition and relax into this addictive stitching technique to create your own piece of history to take home. All materials and guidance provided.

11am - 3:30pm, Saturday, 26 September, 2026 at The Silk Museum.

Good luck to our friends at the One Project Macclesfield who are nominated for an award at a ceremony happening today!

✨ Today’s the day! ✨

Today, some of the One Project team will be heading off to the BBC Stoke & Staffordshire Awards, where we’re incredibly proud to be finalists in the Community Award category! 💚

But don’t worry — our community shop will be open as usual, thanks to our absolutely amazing volunteers who are holding down the fort while some of the team head off to the ceremony.

It’s such an honour to have been nominated, and honestly, just getting this far feels like a huge achievement. To have the work of One Project recognised alongside so many incredible community organisations is something we’re incredibly proud of.

Whatever happens tonight, we’ll be raising a glass to our amazing volunteers, supporters and the whole One Project community.
