I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who came to my bingo event on Friday night - we raised a fantastic amount of money for My CWA - Cheshire Without Abuse and Cardiac Risk in the Young

In particular I would like to thank the following businesses who were able to donate a prize - High Peak Comps, Marc makes comics, Choose Macc, Run Walk Draw - Art by Caroline Constable, Cheshire Time Ltd, Juniper by Jennifer Design Jewellery, East Cheshire Sub Aqua Club (ECSAC), and the wonderful Packhorse Bowling & Social Club for hosting.

The next fundraising event in the Mayoral calendar will be Christmas wreath making, watch out for details coming soon!

🏊 Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the Satellites Swimming Club’s 24hr Swimathon as they begin their extraordinary feat.

Raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young and the club, over 50 (!) volunteers are swimming from 1pm on Saturday to 1pm today. The club set a target of 100km over the 24hrs - a target they’ve absolutely smashed.

I got the chance to meet some of the club’s members and committee members, and had great conversations about how the wider benefits of swimming, and how we can work to support young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to access it.

As CRY are one of my two Mayoral charities, I was immensely proud to support this event, and my sincere thanks go to Adam, Nicola and all at Satellites for the work they do for our communities.

It was a pleasure to be at the start of the Satellites Swimming Club 24hr Swimathon today!

What an amazing effort by all involved to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young and the club.

It was fantastic to meet Committee members and some of their fantastic young swimmers!

🏊‍♂️🏊‍♀️ Our 24 hour swimathon is underway!

We are very appreciative to the Mayor of Macclesfield for all of his support today.

I shall be at Macclesfield Library this Saturday morning to present certificates for this summers Read to the Beat summer reading challenge.

Don't forget to join us this Saturday for our Summer Reading Challenge celebration event. Finish the challenge and collect your medal and certificate and meet the Mayor!

Thrilled to announce my first public fund raising event will be a Bingo night on the 4th September at the Packhorse Bowling & Social Club on the corner of Abbey Road and Westminster Road.

All monies raised will go to my two chosen charities, Cardiac Risk in the Young and My CWA - Cheshire Without Abuse, both of whom are close to my heart, do amazing work in the town and are extremely worthwhile causes, so please do come down and take part - we have some fantastic prizes too.

I’m now 40km into my Mayoral challenge of running 100km, and beat my personal best at the Tatton 10k today!

Raising money for Cardiac Risk in the Young, I took on my 4th 10km race since becoming Mayor in May. Knocking over 3:30 off my PB time, I finished in 53:37. Happy to be progressing, but lots more to do!
