We’re excited to share our new monthly display as part of the National Year of Reading.

This month’s theme is Locally Grown, celebrating books of all kinds connected to Dorset.

The display showcases authors who were born in Dorset, alongside a wide variety of titles set in the county
or inspired by its landscapes, history and communities.

From fiction and poetry to memoirs, history and children’s books, there is plenty to discover. Whether you’re
interested in exploring local voices, reconnecting with familiar places, or simply finding your next great read,
this collection highlights the richness of Dorset’s literary heritage.

Visit Lytchett Matravers Library to browse the display and take home a piece of local storytelling.
