We are currently experiencing high volumes of calls and emails due to COVID – 19.

Tenants who are concerned about making their rent payments due to loss of earning because of illness or self-isolation are advised to check the DWP website https://www.gov.uk/government/news/coronavirus-support-for-employees-benefit-claimants-and-businesses

If you need advice on how to make a claim please contact Citizen’s Advice, or speak to a member of the Revenues & Benefits team or Rents team.

If you need to claim Universal Credit please apply on line at www.gov.uk/universal-credit/how-to-claim or call the helpline on 0800 328 6455.

To claim Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) you must inform your employer, if employees need to provide evidence to their employer that they need to stay at home due to coronavirus, they will be able to get it from the NHS 111 online instead of having to get a fit note from their doctor – this is currently under development and will be made available soon.

If you are claiming Housing Benefit and it has stopped or have a query you will need to speak to the Revenues & Benefits team on 01590 646121.

For current updates please check our website at www.newforest.gov.uk

We aim to respond to your email as soon as possible and thank you for your patience.

As of 2nd October 2017 our applicants will no longer be able to submit interest in a property being advertsed on the Homesearch housing waiting list by text message. Instead, they will need to apply online using their Homesearch Application number or complete a 'property request form' and post it to the Housing Options Team or take it into a local Information Office. They must ensure that the property request form reaches the Housing Options Team by midnight Sunday after the property is advertised.
