โ๏ธ Busy Start to the Day at London Luton Airport ๐
Itโs been one of those mornings where everything seems to happen at once here at London Luton Airport โ a real reminder of the variety and unpredictability of airport policing.
Our teams have been kept on their toes from the early hours, dealing with two medical emergencies, ensuring those involved received the urgent care they needed, working closely with our airport and ambulance partners.
At the same time, officers responded to a theft in Duty Free, making sure enquiries were carried out swiftly to support staff and protect businesses operating within the terminal.
In a separate incident, a wanted male attempting to leave the country was identified and arrested, preventing them from evading justice โ a great example of proactive policing and vigilance by our officers.
Elsewhere, four further arrests were made following thefts from Sainsburyโs. As part of that work, the vehicle involved was also seized due to having no insurance, removing a potential risk from the road network around the airport.
And just as things werenโt busy enoughโฆ we also dealt with a red drone alert in the vicinity of the airport. Thankfully, this was resolved quickly, but itโs a strong reminder that flying drones near airports is illegal and extremely dangerous.
๐ Reminder:
If you own a drone, always check the rules before flying. Airspace around airports is restricted for a reason โ it protects passengers, crew and aircraft.
A huge well done to all officers and partners involved this morning โ teamwork, quick thinking, and professionalism on display throughout.
