NEW TOWN COMMUNITY FESTIVAL – TOMORROW! πŸŽ‰

The wait is almost over! Tomorrow we bring our community together for a fantastic day of live entertainment, family fun, and a celebration of the incredible local talent that makes our Town so special πŸ’š

It all is all about showcasing our local performers, community groups, businesses, and organisations while creating a day full of happiness, laughter, and togetherness for everyone to enjoy.

β˜” We’ve got gazebos and umbrellas in place for shelter if needed, but we’re staying positive and hoping for some dry weather!

A huge thank you to our headline sponsor, Luton Rising, to Love Luton, and to everyone who has supported, volunteered, performed, donated, and worked behind the scenes to make this event possible.

This festival is a true reflection of what can be achieved when a community comes together with a shared vision, passion, and pride in where they live. We are incredibly grateful to every individual, organisation, and local businesses that has played a part in bringing this day to life. Together, you’ve helped create something truly special for New Town and the wider Luton community. πŸ’š

Could your street be next?

Following the success of the community street parties held across Luton this May, we're inviting residents to get involved in a new round of street parties this August.

From meeting neighbours for the first time to bringing communities together, the May events showed the power of connection and community spirit

As part of our citizen activation work, we're encouraging residents to take the lead and organise something positive in their neighbourhood.

Today, is flying the Pride Flag from the Town Hall to mark the beginning of Pride Month.

Our town is a proud to be a town who doesn't accept hate of any kind on our streets, a town built on tolerance and acceptance and a town built on fairness and social justice.

Before people comment:

The Union Flag is flying from the other flagpole (which it does every day of the year).

The Armed Forces Flag for veterans will be flown on armed forces day for a week at the end of June.

Straight Pride doesn't exist as they don't face hatred for who they love.

We hope our LGBTIQ+ communities have a fab month celebrating.

Today the team came together to celebrate Eid with a wonderful bring and share lunch.

It was a lovely opportunity to take a moment out of our busy schedules and enjoy some delicious food!

Thank you to everyone who contributed dishes!
