Car key Thefts & Burglary's

If you own a vehicle a vehicle with remote locking and unlocking and push button to start engines a faraday pouch is a must have in the fight against vehicle theft

A Faraday pouch (sometimes called a Faraday bag) is a small, signalโ€‘blocking pouch designed to store keyless car fobs.
Many modern car keys constantly emit a signal. Criminals can use equipment to boost or capture this signal from outside your home and unlock your car without forcing entry โ€“ this is known as relay theft.

A Faraday pouch is lined with special material that blocks radio signals, preventing thieves from accessing or copying your car keyโ€™s signal while itโ€™s inside the pouch
A simple faraday pouch will when closed properly will shield the key and prevent the RFID signal from leaving the pouch rendering the theft attempt useless

Car Key theft by Burglary is where thieves will target high value cars by breaking into the property to steal the cars, invest in anti snap door locks for front and rear doors

๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ”‘ Donโ€™t let thieves take the easy option
Protect your home by:
โœ” Moving keys away from doors and windows
โœ” Blocking key signals with a Faraday pouch
โœ” Upgrading to antiโ€‘snap door locks
Small changes make a big difference.

Last week, Officers and PCSOs worked alongside Shropshire Trading Standards to carry out ageโ€‘related test purchases focusing on the sale of knives. This forms part of Operation Sceptre, our ongoing initiative to tackle knifeโ€‘related crime.
During the checks, we visited 8 retailers in Bridgnorth and 3 in Ludlow. All but three shops correctly asked the purchaser for ID. Those that did not were given words of advice by Trading Standards to ensure they meet their legal responsibilities going forward.
Thank you to the retailers who continue to play their part in keeping our communities safe.

๐Ÿš” Operation Aurora โ€“ Speed Enforcement ๐Ÿš”

โœ… What we want you to know

This weekend, as part of Op Aurora, officers carried out speed checks at three locations following concerns raised by local communities:

๐Ÿ“ A4117 Henley, Ludlow Road (40mph)
โ€ข 30 vehicles checked
โ€ข 9 vehicles exceeding the limit
โ€ข Highest speed: 57mph
โ€ข Average speed: 41mph
This highlights a real concern for road safety at this location.

๐Ÿ“ A4117 Clee Hill Common (50mph)
โ€ข 20 vehicles checked
โ€ข 1 vehicle exceeding the limit at 57mph
โ€ข Average speed: 44mph
The majority of drivers were complying with the speed limit here.

๐Ÿ“ B4368 Munslow (30mph)
โ€ข 10 vehicles checked
โ€ข 4 vehicles exceeding the limit
โ€ข Highest speed: 55mph
โ€ข Average speed: 35mph
With 40% of vehicles speeding, this remains a significant concern.

All 14 vehicles found over the speed limit have been reported and will be dealt with accordingly.

๐Ÿ’™ How we want you to feel
We want residents to feel reassured that concerns about speeding are listened to and that action is being taken to improve road safety in their communities.

๐Ÿ‘‰ What we want you to do
Please continue to drive within the speed limits and help keep everyone safe. If you have concerns about speeding or other local issues, you can get in touch via:
๐ŸŒ https://orlo.uk/gUveE

We will continue to carry out enforcement as part of Op Aurora in areas highlighted by the community.

๐Ÿš“ Operation WHITEBEAM โ€“ Keeping Rural Communities Safe ๐Ÿš“

Officers from the Ludlow Safer Neighbourhood Team, supported by response colleagues, have been carrying out Operation WHITEBEAM in and around Ludlow. This targeted operation focuses on preventing acquisitive crime in rural areas, using crime data and community reports to make the best use of our resources. As part of this work, vehicles and individuals are stopped where appropriate to disrupt criminal activity and reduce harm. Pictured is PC Waddicor conducting a search of a vehicle stopped on suspicion of being involved in crime in the area.

We want you to feel reassured that your local officers are being proactive, visible, and guided by evidence to protect rural communities. Even when no offences are identified, these checks help deter criminal activity and build confidence โ€” something echoed by the driver involved, who appreciated the work being done to tackle rural crime.

If you notice suspicious behaviour, vehicles, or activity in your area, please let us know. Your information helps shape operations like WHITEBEAM and ensures we focus on what matters most to your community.

๐ŸŒŠ Staying safe around water this summer ๐ŸŒŠ

1๏ธโƒฃ What we want you to know
As the weather improves and school holidays approach, more people โ€“ especially children and young people โ€“ enjoy playing and cooling off in outdoor water such as rivers, open water spots and pools. Cold water shock, strong currents and hidden hazards can make these places dangerous very quickly. This supports the national NPCC โ€œRespect the Waterโ€ water safety campaign, aimed at preventing avoidable harm.

2๏ธโƒฃ How we want you to feel
We want parents, carers and young people to feel informed and confident about enjoying the summer safely. Knowing the risks helps everyone make safer choices around water.

3๏ธโƒฃ What we want you to do
โœ… Talk to children about water safety before they head out to play
โœ… Choose safe, supervised places to swim during the school holidays
โœ… Never jump or dive into unknown water
โœ… Always supervise children closely near water
โœ… If someone gets into trouble, call 999 and ask for the Fire and Rescue Service

If you have concerns about unsafe water use, antisocial behaviour near waterways, or local safety issues, please let us know via www.neighbourhoodmatters.co.uk.

๐Ÿš“ Ludlow Police Station โ€“ Front Counter Open ๐Ÿš“
๐Ÿ“… Sunday 24 May 2026
โฐ 5.00pm โ€“ 6.30pm
1๏ธโƒฃ What we want you to know

The front counter at Ludlow Police Station will be open on Sunday 24th May 2026 5pm-6.30pm . This is an opportunity to speak directly with a member of your local Safer Neighbourhood Team about any concerns, ask questions, and get practical crime prevention advice.

What we want you to know
As part of Op Sceptre, the national week of action to tackle knife crime, we will be running a knife amnesty at Ludlow Police Station during front counter opening hours. A knife amnesty allows members of the public to safely surrender knives or bladed items they no longer want in their home. Removing knives from circulation helps reduce the risk of serious harm and keeps our community safer.
