Yesterday a team of cadets and staff from 469 had a fantastic day at the Norfolk and Suffolk Wing Athletics Championships.

Meet Corporal Scofield he is 14 years old and On Saturday 23rd May, he will be joining Luke’s VCMF fundraising team to support Young Lives vs Cancer by walking all 20 London Bridges, from Richmond to Tower Bridge, a total of 24 miles!

He’s doing this to raise money for Young Lives vs Cancer, a charity that supported his mum when she was a child. It means a lot to him to give back and help other families going through similar experiences.

We are very proud and will be Cheering him on along the way!

Last week we celebrated our 100th Achievements evening🏆
We also welcomed 7 new cadets into the squadron bringing 469 to 23 Cadets strong!

The night was Spent celebrating each Cadets achievement over the last 5 months from badges, To promotions, to commendations and more, And finished the Evening with a lovely Sit down Q&A with Wing commander Allan and the padres, where the cadets got to ask him questions about his own cadet career and Other opportunities to come.

A massive Welcome to our New Cadets and a huge Congratulations for all the effort and hard work The cadets at the squadron have put in over the last few months🥇

A big Thank you to Wing Commander Allan for Spending the evening with us and answering all the cadets questions they really appreciated this Time and have taken away so much Knowledge from this.

And a thank you to Padre Stokes and Padre Tuck for enrolling our new flight ✈️

And a Massive thank you to our Civillian Committee who Arranged for A delicious Selection of cakes and biscuits✈️

None of this would be possible without Every helping hand to the squadron from the volunteers, the Staff, Cadets and even parents, we are grateful for you all!

Officer Commanding 469 Easter message!

Over the past few months 469 has seen significant changes in many areas:

⭐️Increased Cadet recruitment
⭐️Staff recruitment
⭐️Cadet and Staff development success
⭐️New formation of a complete Civilian Committee
⭐️Successful participation in Sector and Wing events
⭐️Increased Community engagement
Plus much much more!!!

With a positive attitude towards the future
As a Squadron we have been able to showcase our development at our recent 85th Anniversary celebration event and impress our Sector Commanders at our recent Annual Formal Inspection. Every member of the Sqn did themselves proud!

We will also be celebrating our achievements at another special event at the end of this month!

As the Officer Commanding I pride myself on being able to celebrate the achievements of each and every valued member of the Squadron. I honestly cannot smile wide enough.

Both staff and cadets have put in hours of work which is really paying off and I want to thank you all!! You must all continue to be proud of your accomplishments!

As we enter our Easter break this is the chance for Staff and cadets to have a rest and recharge - all ready for a full programme of events leading us into the Spring and summer term.

We would like to say a massive thank you to our friends the Team at Pleasurewood Hills 🐻 for the First Aid equipment they have kindly donated to the squadron for our cadets to use in training for their life saving First aid skills 🩹

We are very lucky to have a Connection to the park and all of the management team have been donating equipment when it cannot be used there, for a while now to help our cadets get the best Training possible!

As a squadron we are very grateful of the community support we have and our staff who work effortlessly to support the unit!
