Keeping council tax low and value for money high ๐ท
Conservative led Epping Forest District Council has the lowest council tax in Essex, taking just 8% of the total bill, around ยฃ177 a year for a Band D home, less than 50p a day. The council provide a wide range of services and facilities for this.
This year Essex County Council also set one of the lowest council tax increases in the country for a council of its size while investing ยฃ49 million in highways, repairing potholes and improving road safety. ๐ง
Standing up against all male asylum hotels ๐จ
We are clear: THE BELL HOTEL MUST CLOSE. The Council is using every legal, democratic and diplomatic route available, including the courts, and has already helped stop flats in Buckhurst Hill being used as asylum accommodation.
Defending our Green Belt ๐ณ
Local Conservatives will continue to oppose inappropriate development and protect Epping Forestโs countryside from large housing estates and solar farms.
Backing local jobs ๐ผ
We are also bringing investment to the area, including ยฃ88 million from Google for a new data centre at North Weald, creating jobs and supporting local businesses.
