Planning a bake sale, street party or community event? Here’s what you need to know about keeping food safe.
❗Allergens: If you’re serving homemade food, keep a note of the ingredients and clearly display allergens if they’re present so you can share them with anyone who has a food allergy or intolerance. Be especially mindful of the 14 regulated allergens – eggs, milk, nuts and gluten are some of the most common in baking.
🌡️Temperature: Food that needs to be chilled, such as sandwich fillings and cream, should be left out of the fridge for no more than four hours.
🧼 Good hygiene: Wash hands, surfaces and utensils thoroughly before, during and after preparing food.
