Erinne had the kindest and most generous heart. Having experienced Rainbows first-hand, she always wanted to support them in any way she could. 🌈

She loved advocating for them and dreamed of raising money so other children and families could feel the same love, care and support she did. ❀️

She would proudly tell everyone how amazing Rainbows was and how wonderful the people were. We know that even now, Erinne would be so proud to continue to support Rainbows. She would want her legacy to keep championing the place and the people who meant so much to her.

Our Spring Appeal is coming to an end - please consider donating today and help make a lasting difference for families like Erinne's. ❀️🌈

At Rainbows, one of our most popular treatments for our babies, children, young people and their families is an aromatherapy massage.πŸ’†πŸŒˆ

For our babies, children and young people, we can use either mandarin, lavender or chamomile. These offer many benefits and can help with various conditions.

For our parents, our favourite oil to use is Frankincense, as it can help calm breathing and help with anxiety and panic attacks. It is also good for reducing inflammation and supporting the respiratory system.

In the blog post, Tina, our Complementary Therapist at Rainbows, shares more insight into essential oils and aromatherapy and how you can use this at home. 🏠️

Sam Squire, our Head of Volunteering at Rainbows, shares what volunteering looks like at Rainbows and what it means to our volunteers.🌈

At Rainbows, volunteering is wonderfully varied and that's what makes it so special.

Whether it's sorting donations or creating wonderful shop displays, supporting at events, helping at the hospice and adding thoughtful touches or offering a friendly face and practical support. Every role plays a vital role in helping us care for babies, children and young people. 🌈

Some roles are public-facing, others happen behind the scenes. Whatever way they volunteer, there is a role to suit everyone, and when we ask our volunteers what they value most, there is one key message that stands out: connection, purpose and enjoyment. ❀️

Whether it’s being part of a team, making a meaningful difference, sharing a laugh with fellow volunteers, or simply knowing their time is helping local families, volunteering at Rainbows is about so much more than giving time.

Thank you to all our volunteers for everything you do and for helping make a meaningful difference for babies, children and young people across the East Midlands. 🌈

"Rainbows was her happy place, even on her darkest days"🌈

Erinne's parents, Jenn and Chris, share what Rainbows meant to their family and how Rainbows supported them following Erinne's devastating diagnosis. ❀️

For Erinne, Rainbows was a place where she could simply be a child - a place filled with fun, laughter and precious memories.

Alongside visits to the hospice, she received expert care at home from our Hospice and Home Team, as well as visits from our Complementary Therapist and Play Specialist.

Families like Erinne's rely on the care and support we provide during the most difficult time of their lives. This vital work is only possible thanks to the generosity of our supporters - it wouldn't be possible without your donations.

Please donate today in memory of Erinne, and help us continue to be there for families like Erinne's when they need us most. 🌈

There's a new group starting at Rainbows, specifically for Rainbows parents who are bereaved of a baby (under 1). 🌈

On Thursday 18th June, we are holding a drop-in coffee morning, offering the opportunity to find out more about the group, have a relaxed and informal chat with some of our Family Support Team and meet other parents.

There will be support, drinks, cake and remembrance craft. β˜•οΈπŸ°

The thing people often say is that a person's best friend is their dog. 🐢❀️

Our two Rainbows PAT dogs qualify as faithful friends to many and are everything you want in a friend.

They are good listeners, incredibly patient, good fun, love the fuss and don't mind too much when things are all too much and you have had enough of playing for now.

Suerene, Cole and Ophelia just love the dogs, Logi and Nell, and enjoy their visits when they come to Rainbows.🐾🌈

As Volunteers’ Week comes to a close, we just want to say thank you πŸ’›

To everyone who gives their time, in so many different ways, you make a real difference to babies, children, young people, and their families at Rainbows. 🌈

As a small thank you, Rainbows volunteers can now access Tickets for Good 🎟️ – offering free and discounted tickets to events across the UK.

πŸŽ‰ Last year we sold 436,364 items throughout our Rainbows stores
πŸŽ‰ We served 242,814 people
πŸŽ‰ And we received 27,972 Gift-Aided bags of donations

This all wouldn’t be possible without our wonderful team of Retail and Corporate Volunteers.

Whether you’re sorting stock, getting items ready for the shop floor, taking donations, or simply saying a friendly hello as customers walk through the door - whatever part you play, it makes a meaningful difference to babies, children and young people across the East Midlands. 🌈

This week, our retail volunteers across our shops have celebrated Volunteers' Week with cake as a thank you from all of us at Rainbows.🍰

Thank you for your time, hard work and dedication.❀️

The power of music 🎢

Through Music Therapy and music-making sessions, we help babies, children, young people and siblings express their emotions and feelings in a safe, therapeutic and supportive environment. At the hospice, at home or in hospital.🌈

Our Music Room is filled with lots of instruments, including drums and guitars, alongside innovative technology that enables every child, regardless of their ability, to create and explore music in ways that are accessible, engaging and empowering.🎢

Music is a powerful tool in both physical and emotional wellbeing and plays a huge role in pain management, physiotherapy and respiratory programmes.

Donate to our Spring Appeal and help children, like Erinne, make musical memories at Rainbows.🎢🌈
