Our own Bradgate Park calendars 2022 are now on sale for £6.00. You can purchase them from our Deer Barn Tearoom, open daily 10am-4pm or from our Visitor Centre open weekends 11am-3pm.

Traditional woodland management of Swithland Woods.

Coppice areas are being cut on a 8-10 year rotation to create a diverse habitat. The hazel products are used for hedge laying and also seasoned and converted into charcoal in our charcoal kiln. Many thanks to the volunteers for helping on Thursdays and Fridays

Coppicing @ Swithland Wood:

There are wildlife areas within Swithland Wood that are sustained by coppicing, so please bear with us when you see our dedicated Rangers coppicing some of the trees. All of the wood collected from coppicing is used for logs, poles, fencing, hedge laying, crafts and to make our own charcoal.
