It will be necessary to close The Street, Ash-Cum-Ridley from 12th May 2026 for up to 3 days.



The road will be closed at Stonechats, The Street.



The alternative route is via The Street, South Ash Road, Ash Lane, A20 London Road, A227 Gravesend Road, A227 Wrotham Road, B260 Longfield Road, B260 Main Road, Ash Road and reversed.



This is to enable water pipe repairs to be carried out by South East Water.

It will be necessary to close Valley Road, Fawkham from 11th May 2026 for up to 3 days.



The road will be closed at Malabar, Valley Road.



The alternative route is via Valley Road, Fawkham Road, B260 Main Road, Hartley Road, Ash Road, The Street, South Ash Road, Ash Lane, A20 London Road, Fawkham Road, Brandshatch Road, Valley Road and reversed.



This is to enable water pipe repairs to be carried out by South East Water.

By registering your camera, you’re not giving police access to your footage. Instead, you’re simply letting them know a camera is in the area. If an incident happens nearby, they may contact you to ask if you’re willing to share any relevant footage.

🌟 Volunteers Needed – Over 60s Thursday Lunch Club 🌟

The Parish Council runs the Thursday Lunch Club for local residents aged 60+. This is held at the New Ash Green Youth and Community Centre every week and we’re looking for some friendly volunteers to help support us. This would be weekly on a Thursday from 12pm-1pm.
We currently need:
🍽️ A volunteer to help serve food and assist with washing up
👩‍🍳 A relief cook to cover when our regular cook is on leave
This is a lovely, sociable group and a great way to give something back to the community.

We’re excited to be launching NEW youth sessions delivered by The Young Lives Foundation at New Ash Green Youth & Community Centre!
Every Thursday
Juniors (8–12 yrs): 5.00 – 6.30pm
Seniors (13–18 yrs): 6.45 – 8.15pm
📍New Ash Green Youth and Community Centre, Ash Road, New Ash Green, Longfield, DA3 8JY
These sessions are shaped around young people’s interests – from sports and games to arts & crafts, cooking, VR and more!

Don’t forget, your food waste will be collected using a different vehicle, so your caddy will be picked up at a different time to your other waste every week.

Please leave your outdoor caddy at the edge of your property, near the road from 7am.

All waste collections this week will take place a day later until Saturday 9 May.

Ash‑cum‑Ridley Parish Council has funded two new youth groups to support young people in our community. We have partnered with the Young Lives Foundation to deliver these groups.

The groups will:
✔️ Start in May 2026
✔️ Run weekly at New Ash Green Youth & Community Centre
✔️ Provide youth‑led activities
✔️ Offer a safe and supportive environment

Self‑referrals are welcome, but young people must be referred before attending.
