We believe that it also relates to the Memorials at any Cemetery or Burial Ground. Here is an update on how our page “Memorials at The Derry City Cemetery” has developed since we established it just over one year ago. To date we have uploaded just over 11,000 + images of Memorials in the Derry City Cemetery and gained 931 followers. We have also answered many queries regarding the locatio
n of graves for people not only locally but from as far away as America, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa etc. Many of these have resulted in those people discovering that the graves they were looking for didn’t have any memorials on them and I’m sure that you will have seen some of the on-line photos just indicating their location with a marker. It’s sad to see this but the good news is that quite a few of these people have followed up on this and had memorials erected. This is satisfying to see and is also giving of our local memorial companies some work. As I’ve said we have taken and uploaded 11,000 + photos to date, this is a lot of work as in order to upload them we need to go out and take them in the first place and then download and edit them. We would like to get some help in the form of our followers sending in photos of their own family memorials together with any information on them. So, if any of our loyal followers want to get involved in doing this just contact us and we’ll let you know what to do, you will be credited in anything that’s uploaded. We would also like all of our followers to like and share our page with their own followers in an effort to make more people aware of our page and increase our followers.
