Over this short series of Facebook posts, we are going to show and demonstrate how Waltham Forest Labour are making a difference here in Hatch Lane and Highams Park North

Our Future Formed programme has provided 122 employment opportunities in the creative sector. We have also created over 1,200 local employment opportunities giving residents real routes into work.

But we’re ready to keep building on this progress.

We will invest through our long-term capital programme, creating 2,000 new jobs and 300 apprenticeships linked to housing, infrastructure, culture and town centres. We will focus our jobs and skills support on the key groups disadvantaged in the labour market, boosting economic activity and linking to our efforts to tackle poverty.

On 7th May, the choice is clear: a Labour Waltham Forest, a borough we’re proud to call home, or parties like Reform who have shown they can’t deliver. Vote Labour. 🌹🌹

Over this short series of Facebook posts, we are going to show and demonstrate how Waltham Forest Labour are making a difference here in Hatch Lane and Highams Park North

Our groundbreaking befriending scheme has provided 3000 hours of contact in its first 9 months and 100 coffee mornings so far including coffee mornings at Hale End Library.

Our programme of activities to tackle isolation in each neighbourhood across libraries, leisure centres and community spaces, reach hundreds of older and disabled adults every week.

But we’re determined to go further.

We will launch our new online hub – Discover Waltham Forest to help everyone access every activity in the borough, from arts and culture through nature and nightlife to sports and leisure.

And we are working to improve future transport infrastructure in North East London, including connectivity with Stratford with the new Superloop Bus SL14 going from Chingford Hatch to Stratford Bus Station

On 7th May, the choice is clear: a Labour council with a proven record of working for residents all year round — or the Green Party, who haven’t shown the same consistent presence in our community. Vote Labour. 🌹🌹

Our early years support is exceptional. We are in the top 5 in England, and in 2024 we had the second smallest attainment gap in England between disadvantaged pupils and their peers.

Our family hub on Friday Hill gives easy access to everything from health, housing and employment support to creative play and parenting programmes.

But we won’t rest — there’s more to do.

We will lead the way to keep our children safe online, supporting all our schools to be smartphone free.

We will open a new SEND school for 100 children, improving the support available locally.

On 7th May, the choice is clear: a Labour council with a record of improving Waltham Forest — or the Conservatives, who have opposed the changes our community needs. Vote Labour. 🌹🌹

Over this short series of Facebook posts, we are going to show and demonstrate how Waltham Forest Labour are making a difference here in Hatch Lane and Highams Park North

We have funded free breakfast clubs and working with the Mayor of London, served free school meals for all primary school children. We've also continued to providefree meal support in the school holidays to help ensure no child goes hungry.

We’ve helped 4,500 households with energy-efficiency measures in the last 4 years, lowering bills.

But there’s more progress to make.

We will build on our existing package of hardship and crisis support for low-income residents and deliver an anti-poverty plan, working alongside our community and voluntary sector partners.

We will continue to fund the Freedom Pass so that 30,000 older and disabled people can travel for free on public transport, supported by surplus funding from our parking revenue.

🌹 Homes To Thrive In 🌹

Over this short series of Facebook posts, we are going to show and demonstrate how Waltham Forest Labour are making a difference here in Hatch Lane and Highams Park North

We have been one of the top five council house builders in the country over the last three years, delivering 624 council homes since 2022.

We have ended the use of hotels for families for temporary accommodation.

Our Private Landlord Licensing Scheme offers protection to 30,000 residents and the new Renters Rights Reform brought in by the Labour Government in place from April will reduce evictions.

But we know there’s more to deliver.

We will continue our nationally recognised housing success by building over 1,000 homes in the next four years, over half of which will be affordable to local residents.

We will remove “No Ball Games” signs from estates, making them welcoming spaces for children to play.

We will reduce rough sleeping by strengthening prevention, expanding rapid outreach and ensuring people receive the support they need to achieve our goal of ending rough sleeping by 2030.

On 7th May, the choice is clear: a Labour Waltham Forest with councillors who are visible, active and delivering for our community, or the Green Party, who too often aren’t present locally when it matters. Vote Labour. 🌹🌹

We are using national government funding for high street community projects in Chingford and Highams Park.

We have campaigned for greater powers to refuse gambling license applications on our high streets.

But there’s still more we can achieve together.

We will invest £730 million over the next decade in our borough, creating jobs and opportunities for our residents and using our powers to support businesses to succeed.

We will tackle vacant retail units head-on, working with businesses and landlords to attract high-quality investment and build vibrant, safe, accessible and inclusive town centres that thrive during the day and evening.

🌹 Nighttime Economy 🌹

Over this short series of Facebook posts, we are going to show and demonstrate how Waltham Forest Labour are making a difference here in Hatch Lane and Highams Park North

While there is not a lot of nighttime economy going in Hatch Lane and Highams Park North we have a couple of things we would like to mention.

We are making getting a later operating license easier for restaurants and bars.

Including allowing The Dove to show the World Cup on the big screen in Chingford’s largest beer garden.

But we’re not stopping here.

We will continue to support the Regal cinema in Highams Park which while not in our ward, will be an asset that loads of our residents will have access to just across the road.

On 7th May, the choice is clear: Labour, with a track record of making Waltham Forest a place we’re proud to live, or Reform, who have shown time and again they can’t be trusted. Vote Labour. 🌹🌹
