Africa Advocacy Foundation

Africa Advocacy Foundation Africa Advocacy Foundation is a charity that promotes better health, education and other opportunities for disadvantaged people in London.

Africa Advocacy Foundation (AAF) is a charity established in 1996 that promotes better health, education and other opportunities for disadvantaged people mainly in London. We support and empower some of the most marginalised individuals who often feel they have no active part to play in it. We identify appropriate pathways enabling beneficiaries to move out of isolation, poverty circles, ill-health etc. leading to independence and better quality of life. AAF activities include support for families, young people, victims of FGM, domestic violence, elderly people, job access, volunteer training, HIV prevention, testing and peer support services.

Our Blood Pressure and PrEP teams are today at St George’s church, Vancouver Rd, SE23 2AG, London bringing two vital health services under one roof. From free blood pressure checks to open, judgement-free conversations about HIV Prevention.
This outreach is delivered in partnership with Aplos Primary Care Network, as we work together to bring essential health services closer to the communities that need them most.

No appointments needed, no judgement - just support, information, and care brought straight to where people already are. Because real health impact starts with meeting people where they’re at.

AAF members are en route to the seaside as part of our summer community outings.

At Africa Advocacy Foundation, we recognise that meaningful community support goes beyond our day-to-day services. Creating opportunities for people to connect, build relationships, experience new environments and enjoy positive moments together is an important part of fostering wellbeing, inclusion and a stronger sense of community.

We look forward to a day of connection, shared experiences and creating lasting memories together.

During the Kenya & Friends in the Park Festival in July, one of the attendees shared his experience of accessing HIV testing through Africa Advocacy Foundation and the convenience of receiving his results instantly.

Speaking from his own experience and as part of the LGBTQ+ community, he highlighted the importance of regular HIV testing and knowing your status.

His story is a simple but powerful reminder: HIV testing is about knowing, taking care of yourself, and making informed decisions about your health.

Know your status. Encourage someone else to know theirs. ❤️ prep_and_prejudice Fast-Track Cities London HIV lewishamcouncil Lewisham Council lewisham_hcp Lewisham Health and Care Partnership
