Regent’s Canal Boater community Bring Westminster Neighbourhood Together Through Art

From 27th September to 10th October 2026, The Floating Collective will host its first two-week art exhibition and programme of free creative workshops at the new Church Street Arbeit Triangle Pop-up space, with grant funding by Westminster Council.

This is the first exhibition by The Floating Collective - a community of artists living on boats at Lisson Grove Moorings. Life Afloat features work exploring ideas of home and belonging, inviting visitors to experience the often unseen world of London’s boating community. The exhibition brings together art, music, film and storytelling, alongside a programme of free creative workshops for the local community.

Through the exhibition and workshops, the group hopes to create opportunities for conversation and connection between neighbours who may live only metres apart, but rarely have the chance to meet.

The exhibition will open and close with two community music gatherings, taking place from 4–7pm on Saturday 26th September and 4-7pm Saturday 10th October. Musicians from the moorings will play, and local residents are warmly encouraged to bring an instrument and join in for an informal afternoon jam. The events will be free and open to everyone.

📢 Tell us what services matter most to you

The UK Government is cutting Westminster's funding by almost half over the next four years. Combined with rising costs and increasing demand for services, this means the Council faces a significant budget challenge.
Before any decisions are made about savings and Council Tax, we want to hear from you.

🗣️ Come and share your views with us at 4 Lilestone Street this week.
