STATION COLLECTION - LONDON VICTORIA STATION

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We are in need of some more volunteers to man our station fundraising collection at London Victoria next Tuesday 8th September... Can you help?

The awesome Annie Riley will be there all day performing which will draw in the crowds - but we need volunteers to hold the buckets for everyone wanting to donate their pennies as they pass!

Annie will be there all day 7am til 7pm - if you can spare even just an hour or two during that time we would be hugely grateful.

If you can help please email [email protected] asap.

THANK YOU 🙏

Bank holiday showers can't stop the music 🎵

🌤Sixty veterans and guests joined The Not Forgotten on Bank Holiday Monday for a fabulous outdoor music concert at Courteenhall Estate, enjoying food, games, raffles and a wonderful music programme from the inimitable Max Fox and his team of entertainers from Musicality.

Even the odd bank holiday shower couldn't dampen our spirits! ☔

Part of our Regional Connect Weeks programme, an afternoon like this can make a huge difference to an injured or isolated veteran's mental wellbeing, getting them out of the house to a local venue and reconnecting them with other like-minded people in a safe, supportive atmosphere.

Huge thanks to Courteenhall Estate for having us, to the Belvoir Charitable Trust for their support, and to the team of performers and volunteers (especially Jensen Luke Murphy, Debbie Matthews and Frank Matthews) who made it possible.

Beginning on 1 September 2026 at Holywell Beach in Cornwall, Ian Pomeroy will undertake an extraordinary Wheelbarrow Yomp around the United Kingdom in support of The Not Forgotten!

The journey will take Ian along some of the nation's most iconic coastlines and communities, travelling through England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales before returning to Cornwall on 15 October.

Along the way, Ian will visit veteran communities, care settings and custodial establishments, as well as taking part in fundraising and community engagement activities.

The challenge is a remarkable demonstration of endurance, commitment and support for the veterans and serving personnel who benefit from The Not Forgotten's work.

Whether you're a beneficiary, volunteer, supporter, veteran, friend or family member, we'd love you to join Ian on any of the route sections across the UK. The routes will be posted each week, just in case there need to be any late changes to the schedule.
Each morning Ian will set off around 0800.

Week 1: Cornwall to Kent
📍 1 September
Holywell Beach Bar Car Park, Holywell → Trevaunance Cove Car Park, St Agnes
📍 2 September
Geevor Tin Mine Museum, Pendeen → Land's End Signpost
📍 3 September

📍 4 September

📍 7 September

There is no need to register, if Ian is passing through your area, simply pop along for a mile, an hour, or a full day's yomp. Every step helps raise awareness and support for veterans and serving personnel who are wounded, injured, sick or isolated.

💙 Yomp with Ian.

We've been a bit quiet on social media over the past few weeks as the whole team has been out either delivering events or taking some hard-earned leave.

But now we're back! We'll be posting lots of content of all the events that have been going on in July and August...

🛩️Starting with one special event from early August at Danny House in West Sussex - the spectacular 'Spitfire and Swing' event celebrating the 90th anniversary of the iconic Spitfire.

By kind permission of the estate’s owner Richard Burrows, we brought some of the sights and sounds of the 1930s and 40s to the beautiful lawns of Danny House, along with a full-size concept model of a Spitfire, marking the 90 years since the iconic aeroplane made its first flight in 1936 ahead of its heroic service in World War Two.

😎The weather was glorious as TNF beneficiaries, supporters and guests from across the local and regional community gathered together for an afternoon of live music from the UK’s top swing band The Jive Aces, vintage 1940s duo The Swingtime Sweethearts, military vehicles and re-enactment displays and the chance to meet and chat to veterans including those who served in the Second World War.

🥯The legendary Beigel Bar Brick Lane and Veteran Gin were there to keep everyone fed and watered, and of course the Spitfire itself was the guest of honour, with a full-size Aerolite Next Generation concept model of the aircraft brought along by Aerolite Spitfire and Great British Supermarine.

🎉The event also raised money for The Not Forgotten, with an incredible £2,925 donated by guests and supporters.

LIVERPOOL STREET STATION COLLECTION - CAN YOU HELP?

We have been offered a station collection for The Not Forgotten to raise money next Wednesday, 12th August.

Would you be able to come along to Liverpool Street (Central London) to hold a bucket for a few hours or the whole day?

Volunteering for a station collection not only raises money for The Not Forgotten but is a fun, rewarding day out, introducing you to like-minded veterans, having a bit of a laugh and conversation, plus the satisfaction of 'giving back' to TNF.

If you can spare a few hours to volunteer please email [email protected] as soon as possible.

Can't make next week? We also have a station collection at London Paddington on 23rd September and would welcome volunteers for then too.

Thank you! 🙏
