This is from the Reform UK branch in Alyn and Deeside and Wrexham in North Wales.

When it was highlighted by Ukrainian activist in Wales, they deleted the post and changed the name of the group to give the party more cover from criticism (claiming it is a "supporters' group" and views do not necessarily reflect those of Reform UK).

We think the reality is that this DOES reflect Reform UK's policy nationally - only with more honesty. They should be pushed to clarify that!

(We'd add: those on the left who say similar things should reflect...)

Voting is open in the ballot for Green Party of England & Wales members to prioritise motions for discussion at Green Party Autumn conference (2-4 October, Brighton). Here Valentina Butenko, lead proposer of motion A149 "Strengthening solidarity with Ukraine", explains why it's so important.

The motion was not reached at the last two conferences - please help make sure it is this time.

Many hundreds of workers at the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant have been detained, abused and tortured. Fifteen are now in prison following show trials on fabricated charges.

On 27 August, at the UNISON national office in London, join their union rep Khrystyna Levchenko and Ivanna Khrapko of the State Employees' Union of Ukraine to discuss their case and the need for continuing solidarity with Ukraine's workers.

On 27 August two Ukrainian trade unionists, including a rep from the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, are speaking at UNISON HQ.

Yesterday a Russian drone hit a passenger train travelling from Odesa to Dnipro. All 340 passengers were saved as a result of the action of the driver and his assistant - who were killed.

The utter barbarism of Russian imperialism.

UK train drivers' union ASLEF, which campaigns actively in support of Ukraine and has been affiliated to our campaign since 2014, has denounced the attack and expressed "unwavering solidarity" for Ukrainian rail workers.

At the end of August and again in September, Ukraine Solidarity Campaign will be organising for Ukrainian trade unionists to come over to the UK, including one of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear workers detained by Russia and now campaigning for the release of her colleagues. We also have lots of other plans over the next few months; more details on the Crowdfunder. Please donate to help make these things possible!

We're hoping to raise £4,000, if possible by the time of TUC Congress in September.

Help fund our essential campaigning in the months ahead, including bringing Ukrainian trade unionists to the UK in August and September.

Congratulations to our close comrade Tanya Vyhovsky - Democratic / Progressive Party State Senator in Vermont - for winning the primary vote to stand with Democratic endorsement again.

Of Ukrainian heritage, Tanya is a socialist, a strong supporter of the workers' movement and a strong champion of the Ukrainian cause, in the US and internationally.

At the 20 June "International Conference Against War" in London, Diane Abbott MP described Russia's war in Ukraine as "the NATO campaign against Russia". Our committee members Sacha Ismail and Chris Ford have written her an open letter, which we republish here.
