🎥🎞️ We're thrilled to partner with The Garden Cinema to present a thorough retrospective of the brilliant CZECHOSLOVAK NEW WAVE!

Of all the cinematic movements that swept the globe in the aftermath of the Second World War, the Czechoslovak New Wave stands out to this day as one of the most politically focused and creatively integrated, with cinematic gems remarkable in their thematic complexity, daring satire, and dazzling formal experimentation.

The series opens this Saturday 5th September with Vojtěch Jasný's beloved fantasy THE CASSANDRA CAT (Až přijde kocour), and the screening will be preceded with live music from 1960s - see you there! 🎶 🎶

Today, we commemorate the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the 1968 Invasion and the subsequent occupation by Warsaw Pact troops. This day is dedicated to honouring all those whose lives were tragically affected by the events of August 1968. We do not forget. 🕊️

CZECH PRESENCE AT BBC PROMS

🎶🎶 On Tuesday 1st September, the BBC Proms will feature Jakub Hrůša conducting the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the extraordinary Czech pianist Lukáš Vondráček in a performance of Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 3.

The programme of the concert also includes Vítězslava Kaprálová’s folk-inspired Suita rustica and Janáček’s powerful Sinfonietta, the composer's last and best-loved orchestral work, composed exactly 100 years ago.
