What is the Conservative Policy Forum?
Sometimes it’s easier to start with what it isn’t.

CPF isn’t about agreeing with the room. And you certainly don’t need to be a policy expert to get involved.

CPF is about bringing together people with different perspectives, to ask the difficult questions, and come up with practical solutions.

It’s a place to challenge assumptions and, often, share the insight that comes from experiencing the issues we’re trying to solve.

At our latest Natural Environment workshop with The Rt Hon Dame Theresa Villiers DBE, we discussed some of the difficult realities facing our countryside and the people who care for it.
Farmers play a vital role in protecting and managing our environment, but effective conservation requires us to be honest about the trade-offs involved. Conservative policy must be practical, evidence-led and grounded in what is actually happening on the ground.

The Conservative Policy Forum will be at Conference again this year, with a packed programme of discussions, talks and networking.

🌿 How can we protect and restore Britain's natural environment?

Join us for an online workshop with Dame Theresa Villiers, former Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, alongside Sam Hall, Director of the Conservative Environment Network (CEN).

As part of CPF's ongoing Natural Environment Consultation, we'll be discussing some of the biggest questions facing our countryside and environment, including:
• How should we support and reward nature-friendly farming?
• Which native species should we prioritise protecting, and how?
• What is the right balance between public and private funding for nature recovery?
• How do we reconcile competing demands on land use?
