Please 🎮 GAMEFIT: Exercise + Gaming for Better Focus

GAMEFIT is a 6-week exergaming intervention designed for children aged 7–14 years with traits of ADHD. The programme uses fun, active video games that encourage physical movement while supporting:
• Attention and focus
• Self-regulation and impulse control
• Coordination and physical activity
• Confidence, motivation and wellbeing

The study was co-developed with neurodivergent children and parents, ensuring it is enjoyable, supportive and tailored to children’s needs.

Sessions take place at Kingston University, with free parking provided for families.

Why are we doing this research?

Children with ADHD often face cognitive and behavioural challenges that impact both learning and daily life. Many families also seek non-medication-based strategies to support their children.

Through accessible and playful movement, our aim is to:
• Better understand how physical activity benefits the ADHD brain
• Develop future school- and community-based wellbeing supports
• Ensure that every child has opportunities to thrive

So far, feedback has been highly positive — over 90% of families previously involved in AcTi Gamer project expressed enthusiasm for continuing in similar programmes.

What will Families Receive?

Children who complete the programme will receive:
A certificate and stickers to celebrate their achievement
A £40 Amazon voucher as a thank you for their time and effort

Families can express interest directly here:

🧠 NEAR-KIDS EEG Study

NEAR-Kids is a research study which explores how how movement and brain activity interact during attention tasks. This study is also open to children aged 7–14 years.

Children will take part in a range of engaging activities during their visit, including:

Fun computer-based cognitive games

Fun behavioural tasks

A non-invasive EEG activity
