At a time when the operational tempo places high demands on Reservists and there are continuing constraints on their training, UKRFA provides a range of events that improve self-confidence, broaden Reservists’ experience and are retention-positive. UKRFA events are challenging and demanding and frequently take place in an international context, helping foster cooperation and understanding of our coalition partners for future operations. Our outputs develop members of the Reserve Forces in the conceptual and physical components of fighting power, offering a unique method of enhancing our military capability across a range of Mission Essential Task Lists. More than 800 Reservists participate in our events each year. Nearly half of these are new faces and for nearly a quarter this will be a one time experience. Most attend international competitions as part of a Unit team, however the UKRFA also provides individual Reservists with international education through access to courses and seminars abroad such as the CIOR Young Reserve Officers’ Workshop and the United States Air Force Reserve’s International Junior Leadership Development Seminar. UKRFA also provides access to international seminars run by CIOR and CIOMR several times each year.
