Society for Co-operation in Russian and Soviet Studies Promoting knowledge of the language, history and culture of Russia and the Soviet Union. It offers a library and a unique photographic collection.

The Society for Co-operation in Russian and Soviet Studies (SCRSS) was founded in 1924 as the Society for Cultural Relations between the British Commonwealth and the USSR. It is a unique educational centre, based in London, promoting knowledge of the culture, language and history of Russia and the Soviet Union. It also organises lectures and film shows. The Society played a significant role in est

ablishing the Soviet War Memorial in London. Following a decision of a Society AGM, a meeting of interested parties led to the formation of the Soviet Memorial Trust Fund in 1997. The Society is a founder member. The Trust was instrumental in organising the fundraising necessary to create the memorial, as well as its official unveiling on 9 May (Victory Day) 1999. The Society is a registered charity No. 1104012.
