Yesterday, our High Commissioner, H.E. Thomas Bisika, delivered the opening statement at the Financing Education for a Shared Purpose breakfast at UK Parliament — hosted ahead of the Education World Forum by the Council for Education in the Commonwealth, IPNEd, RESULTS UK, and Save the Children.
H.E. Bisika reaffirmed Malawi's commitment to foundational learning and highlighted Malawi's role as host of FLEX 2026 — the Africa Foundational Learning Exchange — taking place in Lilongwe from 15–17 July 2026. Now in its third edition, FLEX is Africa's leading platform for advancing education policy and practice, building on the foundations of Sierra Leone (2023) and Rwanda (2024).
His message: the tools and evidence exist. What Africa needs now is coherent, sustained implementation — and financing that follows results. We look forward to welcoming partners and fellow African nations to Lilongwe. Together, we can ensure every child has the foundational skills to thrive.
