The Second Army Area reports that on 6 January 2026 at approximately 07:25 hrs this morning
the Suranaree Task Force received a report of an explosion incident in the Chong Bok area,
near Hill 469, Dom Pradit Subdistrict, Nam Yuen District, Ubon Ratchathani Province.
As a result of the incident, one soldier was injured. The injured soldier is Sergeant First Class
Prachaya Philachai, Platoon Leader of the 1st Rifte Platoon, Infantry Company 6021 (RDF).
He sustained shrapnel injuries to his right arm.
Medical personnel assessed his condition as Green category (minor injuries) and not
life-threatening. Following the incident, units in the area immediately conducted initial first aid
in accordance with field medical procedures and promptly evacuated the injured soldier from
the operational area.
The injured soldier was initially transported to K*t Chiang Mun Subdistrict Health
Promoting Hospital and was subsequently referred for further treatment at Nam Yuen Hospital.
He is currently in stable condition and remains under close medical supervision.
At present, the cause of the incident is under investigation by the relevant authorities.
The Second Army Area expresses its concern for the injured soldier and has instructed all units to exercise heightened viellance and strictly adhere to operational safety measures,
ensuring the highest level of safety for military personnel and civillans in the area. Updates will be provided to commanders and the public as appropriate. The public is assured that the Second Army Area continues to perform its duties with responsibility, prudence, and an unwavering commitment to safety at all times.
