Fundraising Events are a fantastic way for people of all ages & abilities to help raise vital funds for the work of The Salvation Army.

💙 This week’s is Simon! 💙

Simon took on an epic 196-mile walk from to , which he aptly named ‘The Big Salvation Army Walk’! 🥾👏

And if walking nearly 200 miles wasn’t challenge enough, Simon also set out to raise money for his local Salvation Army in along the way. Simon plays in the band and sits on the church council at Morriston Salvation Army, so this was a challenge with a very personal connection. ❤️

He set off on 19 July, making his way through Abergavenny, Ross-on-Wye, Gloucester, Oxford and Maidenhead before finally reaching London on Saturday 1 August. 🗺️🚶‍♂️

And what an incredible journey it was – Simon raised more than £3,700 to support the work of The Salvation Army in his local community! 🎉💰

🎉 Congratulations, Simon, on absolutely smashing this challenge. What an incrdible champion! 🏆💙

The Manchester Marathon is the UK’s second-largest – and we have FIVE charity places available!

🚴‍♂️ Team Sally Army Richard is gearing up for the London to Brighton Cycle Ride this Sunday! 🎉

This will be Richard’s 4th London to Brighton and his 3rd time riding in support of The Salvation Army – and we couldn’t be prouder to have him representing once again! ❤️

The 55-mile route is no small feat…but if anyone can smash it, it’s Richard! 💪🔥 And Richard isn’t just taking on this challenge for himself – he’s fundraising for his local Salvation Army in Worthing 🙌

At Worthing Salvation Army, they’re right at the heart of the local community, bringing people together and helping those who may be feeling lonely or isolated, with meet-ups including:

☕ Cuppa and Chat
🧶 Knit and Knatter
🌟 Thursday Club for adults with learning disabilities
🤝 Befriending Scheme

Worthing provides welcoming spaces, friendship and support for people who could really use a friendly face and someone to chat to.

🏃‍♀️Less than TWO WEEKS until the Great North Run! 🏃‍♂️

We’re incredibly proud of a group of Ukrainian volunteers from The Salvation Army who are taking on the for the second year in a row! 🎉

They’re running to say thank you to The Salvation Army and the for supporting them as they rebuilt their lives after fleeing the war in .

💙 Maryna, who is now a Family and Children’s Worker with The Salvation Army, said:

“We are running for peace, for hope and to remind people that the war in Ukraine is still affecting many families. This is one way of saying thank you and showing that kindness and unity can make a real difference.”

The team are fundraising vital funds to support The Salvation Army’s work with the Ukrainian community in the North East - including practical support, community activities, family services and safe spaces for children. ❤️

Our 🌟 🌟 this week celebrates the incredible Diane and Sophie, who took on the Kiltwalk in Dundee this month! 🥾🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Donning their best kilts, they challenged themselves to this amazing walk in support of – and we couldn’t be prouder! ❤️

Diane and Sophie were fundraising for The Salvation Army in – “a place at the heart of our community.” 🫶

The incredible £1,400 they raised will help to:
🌿 Regenerate the garden, creating a welcoming and safe outdoor space for everyone who visits.

👨‍👩‍👧 Support Parent & Toddlers sessions, bringing families together and helping to build connections within the community.

🍽️ Support the weekly Lunch Club, helping to bring people together, reduce isolation and provide support where it’s needed most.

What an incredible achievement, and what wonderful projects to support! 👏
