Today is National Pharmacy Technician Day and we are recognising the vital contribution pharmacy technicians make across our Trust. 💙

With 47 pharmacy technicians across the Trust, they work collaboratively with the wider pharmacy team to help ensure the safe supply of medicines, support medicines optimisation, governance and patient counselling, manage stock and procurement, and contribute to service improvement, digital innovation, education and research.

Yesterday we marked with help from Chelsea team who visited us at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

Some of our littlest patients had the chance to meet the firefighters, see inside the fire engine and learn important saety tips. Thank you to LFB, the paediatric and play teams who made it possible to bring some of our patients down from the wards. 💙

🎈 The Play Team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital had a fantastic time celebrating last week!

Activities included hosting a visiting puppet show, parachute games, stone painting, ward decorations and even jewellery making.

The play team also hosted a stall in the atrium to highlight the important role of play in healthcare. Well done team!

Happy Allied Health Professions (AHP) Day! AHPs are a group of clinical healthcare workers who diagnose, treat, rehabilitate and prevent disease and disability. They make up the third largest clinical workforce, covering 14 professions including radiographers, physiotherapists, orthoptists, dietitians, paramedics, speech and language therapists and more.

Today, we recognise and celebrate our AHP teams across the Trust for the vital role they play in delivering high-quality patient care. 💙

This , our Acute Smokeless Team took to the wards across the hospital, sharing resources and advice to support patients and staff on their smoke-free journey.

Smokeless is the Trust’s smoking cessation service for adult in-patients, offering expert support to help people quit smoking, manage cravings, or reduce the amount they smoke while in hospital.

They also offer support to any member of staff who would like to explore harm reduction or begin a quit attempt themselves.
