We're looking forward to welcoming award-winning creative duo Mary M. Talbot and Bryan Talbot to Dr Johnson's House to discuss their thrilling new graphic biography about Mary Wollstonecraft.

As a young woman in the spring of 1784, Mary Wollstonecraft met Samuel Johnson and recognised in his work a like-minded spirit who believed in the intellectual equality of women and men.

Hear all about this foundational feminist philosopher and author who spoke for the other 'one-half of the human race': womankind.

We are thrilled to welcome 2026 RSL Ondaatje Prize winner Diana McCaulay for a conversation with Sara Collins on her brilliant new novel, A House for Miss Pauline.

Come open one of the many cupboards at Dr Johnson's House.

This one was originally used to store wigs. Its size allowed a chair to be placed inside, meaning the wig-wearer could sit, close the doors behind them, and powder their wigs without a mess being made in the room.

This is where the term 'powder closet' comes from.
