The video and the meeting being discussed were not against the Mayor or any political party.

The sole purpose of the meeting was the Apasen carers issue carers who have been without work for nearly two years and are struggling to support their families.

I personally invited the Mayor to attend, and I have evidence of this. The Mayor responded that due to back-to-back appointments and meetings, he was unable to join and wished the carers the best of luck.

Councillors from Aspire, Labour, and other parties were invited and attended. The discussion was open, cross-party, and focused entirely on carers’ welfare not politics, not attacks, and not any so-called “secret meeting”.

The video being circulated was fabricated and shared by paid media side, which itself proves the meeting was neither hidden nor covert.

Misrepresenting a carers’ advocacy meeting as something else only harms carers and distracts from the real issue: their right to work and dignity.
