At the end of July, Musn McDonald, LCpl Matthews and Musn Fulwell joined The Band of The Royal Regiment of Fusiliers during the 108th edition of the Nijmegen Four Day Marches. The band played in Wedren, and were joined by other bands and marchers of the Flag Parade, as well as joining the British Marching Contingent. Well done to everybody for their contributions.

This afternoon the band had the privilege to perform a concert in the beautiful grounds of Bronbeek, Arnhem. As well as being a history museum, Bronbeek is a home for Dutch military veterans. It was a special honour for us today as one young chap in the audience was celebrating his one hundredth birthday!

A huge congratulations to two of our band members on their recent graduations!

Musn Will Bishop has graduated with a BMus (Hons) from Royal Holloway, University of London after three great years. During his time there, he made the most of the fantastic opportunities on offer, performing in amazing venues, and travelling the world with the university ensembles. Will is now heading into the Regular Army, where he’ll continue his musical journey. We wish him success in this exciting new chapter!

Musn Amy Wood has completed her Secondary Music PGCE at Homerton College, Cambridge. Looking back on the year, Amy’s highlights included the social dinners and, of course, punting! From September, she’ll be inspiring the next generation of musicians as a music teacher at The Purcell School. Congratulations, Amy!

We’re so proud of everything Will and Amy have achieved and can’t wait to see what the future holds for them both. Please join us in wishing Will and Amy all the very best!
