We’re getting better at recycling, but last year over 1.6 billion electricals with hidden batteries were still binned – that’s 3,000 a minute 😮

Hidden batteries in tech, vapes, and other rechargeable items can catch fire when crushed during waste collection and processing 🔥

So remember:

❌ Never bin batteries or electricals
✅ Always recycle separately. Take your items to your local supermarket or Currys PC World for free recycling.

⚠Your batteries and electricals could cause a fire⚠

When we throw hidden or loose batteries in with our general rubbish or recycling, they can get crushed or punctured in the bin lorries. This releases chemicals which come into contact with the air, and can start a serious and dangerous fire.

Don’t let your battery cause the next fire. You can recycle your batteries at your local supermarket, take them with you on your next trip!

The plastic and aluminium coffee, tea and hot chocolate pods are sent by Podback to specialist recycling plants here in the UK.
♻️Plastic pods are recycled in Yorkshire.
♻️Aluminium pods are recycled in Cheshire
At both sites, the pods are shredded to remove the coffee.
♻️The coffee grounds are sent to food waste processing plants where they are turned into biogas and soil improver for local farmers.

Plastic pods are used in the manufacture of building products, like buckets and packaging crates.
Aluminium pods are used in the manufacture of drink cans and car components.
