🇨🇺 Socialist Cuba is under attack and needs our solidarity
For over six decades, Cuba has faced the longest system of unilateral coercive measures in modern history: the illegal US blockade. Designed to economically strangle Cuba’s socialist project, the blockade restricts access to fuel, medicine, food and essential goods.
Yet Cuba continues to resist. The Cuban Revolution has defended its socialist project organised around human need, not private profit. Despite the genocidal blockade, Cuba has maintained universal healthcare and education, sent doctors across the world in acts of international solidarity, stood with liberation struggles from Angola to Palestine, and remained an unwavering example of anti-imperialist resistance.
Responding to Cuba’s call for solidarity, comrades from the Revolutionary Communist Group and Rock Around the Blockade will join the 53rd edition of the José Martí European Volunteer Work and Solidarity Brigade. This year’s brigade commemorates the centenary of Fidel Castro, whose life symbolised revolutionary internationalism and resistance to imperialism.
Travelling to Cuba, brigade members will take part in voluntary work, political exchanges and visits, learning first-hand about the achievements of the Revolution and the realities of life under blockade. Crucially, we will also bring material aid to Cuba to help break the blockade, delivering essential supplies to support Cuban communities facing the daily consequences of the genocidal blockade. But we cannot do this alone. We are raising money to fund the brigade and purchase urgently needed aid to take to Cuba. Every contribution, however small, will help us materially support socialist Cuba and strengthen the bonds of international solidarity.
At a time when imperialism seeks to isolate and punish Cuba for daring to build socialism, it is more important than ever to stand with the Cuban people.Donate what you can and help us defend socialist Cuba.
