Revolutionary Communist Group - RCG / FRFI The RCG fights to build a revolutionary working class movement in Britain. Fight Racism! Fight Imperialism!

The RCG fights to build a revolutionary working class movement in Britain to smash the imperialist system and build socialism. To do this we oppose the opportunist Labour Party and fight for international solidarity.

It's the poor that pay for war. With profits on the line, new PM Andy Burnham shows his commitment to increased military spending – which will need to be paid for with attacks on the working-class.

The issues for communists remain the same: imperialist military spending is aimed at maintaining a barbaric class system globally – we must get rid of it and replace it with socialism.

During the Unite union election for general secretary, British left organisations such as the SWP, Socialist Party, Socialist Alliance, RCP, and rs21 supported incumbent Sharon Graham and her campaign against international secretary and executive committee member of the PSC, Simon Dubbins – the SWP claiming to cast a "critical" vote for her.

But what these organisations choose to ignore are Sharon Graham's pro-war, pro-imperialist, pro-NATO militaristic positions, as she supports the increase in defence spending and insists that it go to British manufacturers and denounces pro-Palestine activists.

These groups demote imperialists such as Graham and Dubbins to mere "bureaucrats' – they promote trade union imperialism and obscure the opportunistic nature of trade unions. Communists are clear: the unions are run by a privileged layer of the working class in their own narrow interests. They are still the beneficiaries of imperialist looting and plunder – the natural allies of the open labour lieutenants of capital.

For real change, we must analyse this reality, fight against all who seek to hide it – and fight for an anti-imperialist, anti-racist working-class movement in the streets.

We’ve spoken with Cubans as they stand with their revolution and its gains. They shared with us some of the creative forms of resistance that socialist Cuba uses to continue to resist imperialism and the US blockade.

Find out how, in the belly of the beast, we must meet the urgent task of building solidarity with socialist Cuba.

¡Viva la revolución!

CAPTION FOR REEL
(I'm focusing on medical internationalism - despite other things Cuba has achieved, just for space and focus over just basic outline. This is from DS 2025 article)

🇨🇺 Cuba’s medical internationalism has, for decades, far exceeded the reach of institutions like the World Health Organisation (WHO), particularly in service to underdeveloped countries.

Cuban health professionals have been stationed in around 60 countries, offering free, high-quality care to communities long abandoned by imperialist powers.

Today, despite the economic crisis in Cuba, over 24,000 Cuban health workers serve in 56 countries. Since 1960, more than 600,000 have worked in over 180 nations. From 1999 to 2015, Cuban medics saved over 6 million lives. Over 73,000 students, mostly from oppressed nations, have graduated from Cuban medical schools.

Cuba doesn’t just send doctors abroad; it trains them on the island. Since the 1960s, tens of thousands of foreign students have been trained in Cuban medical schools.

Founded in 1999, ELAM is the world’s largest medical school, having trained more than 29,000 doctors from over 100 countries by 2019. Most are from working-class and peasant backgrounds. Cuba has also helped build medical schools in 11 countries.

🇨🇺 The shining example of socialism today is threatened by a genocidal blockade strangling the Cuban people. International solidarity has never been more necessary – yet prominent organisations of the British left are instead siding with the aggressor.

Ostensibly socialist organisations here in Britain are doing the imperialists’ dirty work for them, crossing class lines and manufacturing consent for the attacks.

We cannot give ground to these opportunists who are using Cuba’s dire situation to launch further attacks against its revolution. We must urgently fight back in full, unconditional defence of socialist Cuba and help put an end to this blockade.

Comrades from the RCG attended the Fidel 100 Centenary Conference in Havana, where we've joined thousands of activists, delegations and brigades from around the world, to honour the revolutionary legacy of the commander in chief, Fidel Castro.

‘I am a Marxist-Leninist and I shall be a Marxist-Leninist until the day I die.’ – Fidel Castro after the defeat of the Bay of Pigs invasion in 1961.

Since the 1959 Revolution, Cuba has emerged as a nation with outstanding human development indices in health, education, sport and culture, with a globally recognised record of international solidarity. This is the example of democracy and freedom which Cuba has contributed to the world.

We've attended talks, panels and events, learning all about Fidel's legacy in the armed resistance and the legacy of Cuban socialism. We've also heard from Miguel Díaz-Canel, the president of Cuba, about the US blockade and the resilience of the Cuban people in fighting back.

Díaz-Canel commented how important it is for us to build movements in our own countries and how that is the best way to show solidarity with Cuba.

Cuba remains a stronghold and beacon of hope for all countries in the world. The best way that we can honour the legacy of Fidel Castro is by taking the example of the revolution and applying it to our material conditions in Britain, building a movement against imperialism and for socialism.
