英国国際教育研究所（Institute of International Education in London=IIEL）は、英国ロンドンに本部を置く国際教育研究機関です。国際教育という視点から、教育本来の位置づけとその可能性について、研究および教育実践活動を展開しています。

研究所は、英国の教育制度に組み込まれた国家統一試験である義務教育修了試験（GCSE）および大学入学資格試験（GCE-A／AS）を実施する国の公的試験センター（National Examination Centre）です。

また、日本語学、言語学、日本語教育、言語教育等を研究対象とする｢日本語教育協議会（The Council of Japanese Language Teaching=CJLT）｣ および日英の教育制度や教育問題、さらには文化研究をその主たる研究対象とする｢日英の教育と文化に関する研究協議会（T

he Council of Anglo-Japanese Education and Culture=CAJEC）｣ といった両学会の本部として、総会ならびに研究発表大会の開催、研究紀要や会報の刊行等の活動を行なっています。

さらに、英国国際教育研究所・ロンドン教育大学院大学（London College of Education, Graduate School=LCE-GS）の大学院日本語教育学研究科は、MA（Master of Arts. 修士号）および大学院Postgraduate Diploma／Certificateをそれぞれ授与する大学院大学（Graduate School）として機能しています。

加えて、研究所附属の外国語教育機関であるLondon Language Centre（LLC）では、英国政府国際文化交流機関ブリティッシュ・カウンシル認定の英語教育とともに、外国語としての日本語教育に取り組んでいます。
